Charles Hyett
Charles Hyett (1677 – 1738), of Painswick House, near Gloucester, Gloucestershire, was an English politician. He was born 10 April 1677, the eldest son of Benjamin Hyett (d. 1711), an attorney and clerk of the peace for Gloucestershire. His father held a lease on Marybone House in the south-west corner of Gloucester from the city council, close to the castle, which Charles in due course inherited and extended. Hyett married Anna (d. 1728), daughter of Nicholas Webb, an alderman of Gloucester in 1707. They had two sons Benjamin Hyett II, Benjamin and Nicholas Hyett, Nicholas. In 1705 he was appointed as chapter clerk and as bailiff and rent collector for Gloucester. In 1715 he was appointed constable of Gloucester cathedral, thereby acquiring a lease of the Crown land adjoining his house to extend his garden He was returned unopposed as a Tory Member of Parliament, Member (MP) for Gloucester (UK Parliament constituency), Gloucester in 1722. Francis "Frank" Hyett
Francis William "Frank" Hyett (9 February 1882 – 25 April 1919) was an Australian politician, trade unionist, first-class cricketer and anti-conscription activist. Biography He was born near Ballarat, Victoria, the elder child and only son of William Hyett, a sawmill laborer from Tasmania, and his wife Annie. His father died from pneumonia on 1 March 1883. At the age of 13, he left school and began working at a grocery store, where he eventually became a clerk. Hyett embraced socialism in 1902, joining the Australian Social Democratic Party, and becoming its Secretary in 1905. Among the formative friendships he built at that time, the future Prime Minister John Curtin, Frank Anstey and Tom Mann were the most prominent. In 1906, he followed Mann after the latter founded the Victorian Socialist Party, and became that organization's deputy secretary. Jack Hyett
Jack Hyett (11 July 1915 – 21 July 2001) was an Australian teacher, broadcaster, author, naturalist and amateur ornithologist. He was born in Ballarat, Victoria. He was the founding president of the Victorian Ornithological Research Group and the Ringwood Field Naturalists Club. He was editor of the ''Emu'', the journal of the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union 1965–1968. His enthusiasm as a field naturalist led also to his being made an honorary life member of the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka in 1980, leading natural history tours overseas and in Australia, as well as lecturing frequently on natural history on radio and television. William Henry Hyett
William Henry Hyett (2 September 1795 – 10 March 1877) was a British Whig Member of Parliament representing Stroud who was elected to the House of Commons of the United Kingdom on 13 December 1832. Originally William Henry Adams, he was the son of the Rev. Henry Cay Adams and his wife Frances Marston. He changed his surname in 1813, after being left the estates of Benjamin Hyett. He resided at Painswick House, in Gloucestershire. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society on 29 February 1844. He was instrumental in the founding of Gloucester's first Mental Asylum at Horton Road in Gloucester and subsequently the transfer of the private section of this hospital to Barnwood, establishing Barnwood House Hospital Barnwood House Hospital was a private mental hospital in Barnwood, Gloucester, England. It was founded by the Gloucester Asylum Trust in 1860 as Barnwood House Institution and later became known as Barnwood House Hospital.

Willoughby Hyett Dickinson, 1st Baron Dickinson
Willoughby Hyett Dickinson, 1st Baron Dickinson, KBE, PC (9 April 1859 – 31 May 1943), was a British Liberal Party politician. He was Member of Parliament for St. Pancras North from 1906 to 1918. He was an influential proponent of establishing a League of Nations after the First World War. Background Dickinson was the son of Sebastian Stewart Dickinson, Member of Parliament for Stroud. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge. He married Elizabeth, daughter of General Sir Richard John Meade, in 1891. They had three children, one of whom was Frances Joan Dickinson, Baroness Northchurch. On 18 January 1930 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Dickinson, of Painswick in the County of Gloucester. Lord Dickinson died in May 1943, aged 84, and was succeeded in the barony by his grandson Richard, his only son the Hon. Richard Sebastian Willoughby Dickinson having predeceased him.
