HY-80
HY-80 is a high-tensile, high yield strength, low alloy steel. It was developed for use in naval applications, specifically the development of pressure hulls for the US nuclear submarine program and is still currently used in many naval applications. It is valued for its strength to weight ratio. The "HY" steels are designed to possess a high yield strength (strength in resisting permanent plastic deformation). HY-80 is accompanied by HY-100 and HY-130 with each of the 80, 100 and 130 referring to their yield strength in ksi (80,000 psi, 100,000 psi and 130,000 psi). HY-80 and HY-100 are both weldable grades, whereas the HY-130 is generally considered unweldable. Modern steel manufacturing methods that can precisely control time/temperature during processing of HY steels has made the cost to manufacture more economical. HY-80 is considered to have good corrosion resistance and has good formability to supplement being weldable. Using HY-80 steel requires careful consideration ... HY Velorum
HY Velorum is a binary star system in the southern constellation of Vela. It is a dim star but visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 4.83. The distance to this system, as estimated from its annual parallax shift of , is 460 light years. HY Vel most likely forms a gravitationally bound pair with the magnitude 5.45 binary system KT Vel (HD 74535); both are members of the IC 2391 open cluster. As of 1998, HY Vel and KT Vel had an angular separation of along a position angle of 311°. This is a single-lined spectroscopic binary system with an orbital period of 8.4 days and an eccentricity of 0.24. The visible component has an ''a'' sin ''i'' value of , where ''a'' is the semimajor axis and ''i'' is the (unknown) orbital inclination to the line of sight. In 1979, Shyam M. Jakate announced the discovery that the star's brightness varies. It was given its variable star designation, HY Velorum, in 1981. The primary, which is the variable s ... HY-124798
HY-124798 (Rheb inhibitor NR1) is the first compound to be developed that acts as a potent and selective inhibitor of Rheb, a GTP-binding protein which acts as an endogenous activator of the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) subtype mTORC1. Since many of the side effects of rapamycin and its analogues are thought to result from binding to the other subtype mTORC2, it is hoped that selective inhibition of mTORC1 should have a more selective effects profile. As mTORC1 and mTORC2 have binding sites that are very similar in structure, it has been challenging to develop highly subtype selective inhibitors, making indirect inhibition via modulation of other messenger proteins such as Rheb an attractive approach. However, since HY-124798 has a relatively weak IC50 of 2.1μM, and Rheb also has other targets in addition to mTORC1, it remains to be established whether it will deliver the hoped for improvements in pharmacological profile. H-Y Antigen
H-Y antigen is a male tissue specific antigen. Originally thought to trigger the formation of testes (via Locus (genetics), loci, an Autosome, autosomal gene that Gene expression, generates the antigen and one that generates the Receptor (biochemistry), receptor) it is now known that it does not trigger the formation of testes but may be activated by the formation of testes. There are several antigens which qualify as H-Y as defined by rejection of male skin grafts in female hosts or detected by cytotoxic T cells or antibodies. One H-Y, secreted by the testis, defined by antibodies, is identical to Anti-Müllerian hormone, Müllerian-inhibiting substance (AMH gene). Another H-Y, minor histocompatibility antigen, seemed to be encoded in the SMCY gene (acronym for 'selected mouse cDNA on Y'), later identified as an 11-residue peptide from the Lysine-Specific Demethylase 5D protein (KDM5D gene) presented by HLA-B7. A third example is MEA1. Association with spermatogenesis It has b ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Hy (programming Language)
Hy is a dialect of the Lisp programming language designed to interact with Python by translating s-expressions into Python's abstract syntax tree (AST). Hy was introduced at Python Conference (PyCon) 2013 by Paul Tagliamonte. Lisp allows operating on code as data ( metaprogramming), thus Hy can be used to write domain-specific languages. Similar to Kawa's and Clojure's mappings onto the Java virtual machine A Java virtual machine (JVM) is a virtual machine that enables a computer to run Java programs as well as programs written in other languages that are also compiled to Java bytecode. The JVM is detailed by a specification that formally descr ... (JVM), Hy is meant to operate as a transparent Lisp front-end for Python.
