Hussein Mohamed Bashe
Hussein Mohamed Bashe (born 26 August 1975) is a Tanzanian CCM politician and Member of Parliament for Nzega Urban constituency since 2015. In January 2022, he was appointed Agriculture Minister. Political career Bashe has consistently been affiliated with the Chama Cha Mapinduzi party and has made multiple attempts to run for the Nzega Urban constituency, his birthplace, across several general elections. He came third in the primary in 2005. However, in the 2010 primary, he contested in the primaries and defeated Lucas Selelii who was trying to retain the constituency. Despite winning the party primary, Bashe was disqualified from the race by the ruling CCM's Central Committee due to allegations surrounding his citizenship status. Later on, the government confirmed Bashe's legal citizenship, however, this was not in time for the ticket. 2015 Tanzanian General Election
General elections were held in Tanzania on 25 October 2015. Voters elected the president, members of Parliament, and local government councillors. Samia Suluhu Hassan (born 27 January 1960) is a Tanzanian politician who has been serving since 19 March 2021 as the sixth (and first female) president of Tanzania. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli (29 October 1959 – 17 March 2021) was the fifth president of Tanzania, serving from 2015 until his death in 2021. He served as Minister of Works, Transport and Communications from 2000 to 2005 and 2010 to 2015 and was chairman of the Southern African Development Community from 2019 to 2020. General elections were held in Tanzania on 28 October 2020 to elect the President of Tanzania, President and National Assembly (Tanzania), National Assembly. The presidential election was won by incumbent John Magufuli of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi party. Background In April 2019, Livingstone Lusinde, an Member of parliament, MP for the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi party, suggested that holding a presidential election in 2020 was not a good idea due to the cost, and that the money should be used for development projects.
