Hungarians In Finland
There is a slightly large community of Hungarians in Finland (; ). History Prior to the late 1960s, most Hungarians came to Finland due to family, work or cultural and religious reasons. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Finland took some Hungarian refugees from Romania. Since the 1990s, many Hungarians came to Finland as guest workers or exchange students. Before the 1980s, there were only 150 Hungarians in Finland. In 2014, there were 2,600 people in Finland who spoke Hungarian, some of them coming from Transylvania. In the 2000s, Hungarians were employed by Nokia and in recent years, Hungarians have moved to, among other places, Ostrobothnia to work in the grocery sector. Johanna Debreczeni
Johanna Debreczeni (pronounced Debra Chaney) born 28 April 1980 in Tampere, Finland) is a Finnish singer. She began her career as a tango singer, but now her repertoire also includes evergreens and Finnish pop. She is the only child of her family, her father being the Hungarian musician Gabriel Debreczeni. Her first major public appearance was in the musical Grease, at the Tampere Music Theatre. Benedek Oláh
Benedek Oláh (born 29 March 1991) is a Finnish table tennis player. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's singles event, in which he was eliminated in the second round by Jonathan Groth. Ville Valo
Ville Hermanni Valo (; born 22 November 1976) is a Finnish singer, songwriter and musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the gothic rock band HIM. Born and raised in Helsinki to a Hungarian mother and Finnish father, Valo began his career playing bass and drums in various bands around the city. Professor Géza Ellák Jenő Szilvay (born 13 September 1943) is a Hungarian violinist, teacher and conductor. He is the brother of the cellist Csaba Szilvay and the father of the violinist Réka Szilvay. Nándor Mikola (born Nándor Josef Mikolajcsik, ; 27 November 1911 – 3 May 2006) was a watercolor painter from Vaasa, Finland, but born in Budapest, Hungary. Following in the footsteps of his father Ignác Mikolajcik, Mikola started studying lithography at the Budapest University for Art and Design in 1928. Tamás Gruborovics (born 3 July 1984) is a Hungarian football coach and a former player. He formerly played for MP, KuPS, FC KooTeePee and JJK Jyväskylä.
