Hulkoff
Pär Hulkoff (born 25 August 1980), known by his stage name Hulkoff, is a Swedish musician. His first releases were as the lead singer and guitarist for the industrial metal band Raubtier in 2009, and then country rock group Bourbon Boys. Since 2017, he has been active as a solo artist, making Nordic folk influenced power metal under the name Hulkoff. Hulkoff's solo sound has been compared to that of fellow power metal band Sabaton. In fact he featured their lead singer, Joakim Brodén, on his 2017 album ''Kven''. Works and style Hulkoff's original band was Raubtier. They released their first album, ''Det finns bara krig,'' in 2009. He released his first country-rock album with Bourbon Boys, ''Shotguns, Trucks & Cattle'', in 2013. Raubtier
Raubtier (German language, German for "predator") is a Swedish language, Swedish industrial metal band from Haparanda. They released their debut album, ''Det finns bara krig'' ("There is only war" in English language, English), in 2009. (album review) Their first single, ''Kamphund'' ("Attack Dog"), had already become a hit on the Swedish radio station Bandit Rock 106,3. Atomkraft
Atomkraft are an English speed metal band from Newcastle, who were part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement. They formed in 1979, disbanded in 1988, and reformed in 2005. Atomkraft's "Total Metal" approach draws inspiration from fellow NWOBHM bands such as Motörhead and Venom, punk rock bands such as The Dickies, and early Exodus or Slayer. Lead vocalist/bassist Tony Dolan also fronted Venom for a number of years in the late 1980s and 90s. Anders Johansson (drummer)
Anders Johansson (born 25 May 1962) is a Swedish musician, best known as the former drummer of HammerFall and Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force. He currently plays in the power metal band Tungsten. He is the son of jazz pianist Jan Johansson, and brother of Stratovarius and Rainbow keyboardist Jens Johansson. Biography Anders Johansson was born in Stockholm. He and his mum and younger brother later moved to Malmö after his father died in a car accident. The first instrument he played was the piano, but at the age of 14, after a bicycle accident, he switched to drums. From 1979 through 1982 he attended an electronics engineering school. In 1984 he moved to the United States to join his brother Jens in Yngwie Malmsteen's band. He recorded five albums and made five world tours with Malmsteen. Joakim Brodén
Joakim "Jocke" Brodén (born 5 October 1980) is a Swedish musician who is the lead vocalist, keyboardist and occasional third guitarist of the power metal band Sabaton. He and bassist Pär Sundström formed the band in 1999. Early life Brodén's father, Ulf Olof Brodén, is from Sweden, and his mother, Anna, is from former Czechoslovakia. He holds dual citizenship in Sweden and the Czech Republic. He has said that he became a metalhead when he was three or four years old because of the music video for Twisted Sister's " We're Not Gonna Take It". He was a competitive swimmer in his youth. Career Brodén once joined Stormwind for a tour as a keyboard player. He founded Sabaton in 1999 with bassist Pär Sundström. He is the lead vocalist and keyboardist and an occasional third guitarist. Karungi (, Finnish and Meänkieli: ''Karunki'') is a locality situated in Haparanda Municipality, Norrbotten County, Sweden with 232 inhabitants in 2010. The language most spoken in the village is Meänkieli (literally 'our language'), or Tornedalian is a Finnic language or a group of distinct Finnish dialects spoken in the northernmost part of Sweden, particularly along the Torne River Valley. "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is a song written and recorded by American music group Charlie Daniels Band and released on their 1979 album '' Million Mile Reflections''. The song is written in the key of D minor. Although uncredited, Vassar Clements originally wrote the basic melody an octave lower, in a tune called "Lonesome Fiddle Blues" released on Clements' self-titled 1975 album on which Charlie Daniels played guitar. The Charlie Daniels Band moved it up an octave and put words to it. The song's verses are closer to being spoken rather than sung (i.e., recitation), and tell the story of a young man named Johnny, in a variant on the classic deal with the Devil. The performances of the Devil and Johnny are played as instrumental bridges. ''Nyckelharpa'' (, roughly "keyed fiddle" in Swedish language, Swedish, , plural: ) is a "keyed" Bowed string instrument, bowed chordophone, primarily originating from Sweden in its modern form, but with its historical roots scattered across medieval Europe. It is similar in appearance to a fiddle or Violin family, violin but larger (in its earlier forms essentially a modified vielle), which employs key-actuated tangents along the neck to change the pitch during play, much like a hurdy-gurdy. The keys slide under the strings, with the tangents set perpendicularly to the keys, reaching above the strings. Upon key-actuation, the tangent is pressed to meet the corresponding string, much like a fret, shortening its vibrating length to that point, changing the pitch of the string. Talharpa
The talharpa, also known as a tagelharpa (tail-hair harp), hiiu kannel (originally hiiurootsi (which meant Vormsi island located on the halfway to Hiiumaa) kannel) or stråkharpa (bowed harp), is a two to four stringed bowed lyre from northern Europe. It is questionable whether it was formerly common and widespread in Scandinavia. Historically, it has been played in the Estonian-Swedish areas and in Western Estonia, particularly among Estonian Swedes who came to Estonia around the 10th century from the Swedish part of Finland; they likely brought the instrument with them (later Swedish settlers in Estonia did not know nor use the talharpa.) It is similar to the Finnish jouhikko and the Welsh crwth. Jouhikko, a close relative of talharpa, is still known in Finland.
