Hugh Weibgen
Hugh Desmond Weibgen (born 28 October 2004) is an Australian cricketer who plays for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. He is a right handed batsman and right-arm off break bowler. Early life and education He attended Brisbane Grammar School and played his junior cricket at Valley District Cricket Club. Career Weibgen was named as part of the Queensland Bulls side for the 2023-2024 season on a rookie contract. Despite a back injury limiting his availability during the 2023-24 season, he was upgraded to a full-time contract with Queensland in April 2024. In December 2024 Weibgen was selected by the Sydney Thunder as a local replacement player for the injured Tanveer Sangha. On 3 January 2025 he made his Big Bash League debut as a concussion substitute during the Thunder's match against the Perth Scorchers after Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft collided whilst attempting a catch. The Perth Scorchers are an Australian men's professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in the Big Bash League. The Scorchers wear an orange uniform and are based in Perth in the Australian state of Western Australia. Their home ground is the Perth Stadium. 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2024 ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), that was held in South Africa from 19 January to 11 February 2024. It was the fifteenth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. India were the defending champions. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka, but its hosting was pulled in November 2023 after Sri Lanka Cricket was suspended by the ICC. Cameron Timothy Bancroft (born 19 November 1992) is an Australian cricketer contracted to Western Australia in Australian first class cricket, Gloucestershire in English first class cricket, and the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. He made his Test debut for the Australian national team in November 2017. As a result of a Cricket Australia investigation into a ball tampering incident during the 3rd Test against South Africa in March 2018, Bancroft and two others, captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner, were charged by Cricket Australia on 27 March 2018 with bringing the game into disrepute, suspended, and sent home from the tour. Daniel Richard Sams (born 27 October 1992) is an Australian international cricketer. Nicknamed "the Karate Kid", he made his international debut for the Australia cricket team in December 2020.
