Hugh Kenneth Hill (born June 14, 1937) is the former Ambassador of the United States to Bulgaria from 1990 until 1993 and Chargé d'affaires in Zambia. Sol Polansky (November 7, 1926 – January 6, 2016) was an American diplomat. Born in Newark, Polansky received his bachelor's degree from University of California in 1950. He then went to Columbia University and attended the Russian Institute from 1950 to 1952. In 1972 Polansky went to the National War College in Washington, D. C. Polansky joined the United States Foreign Service in 1962; he was stationed in the Soviet Union, Poland and West Berlin. He was also stationed in East Germany from 1976 to 1979 and in Austria. William Dale Montgomery
William Dale Montgomery (born 1945) is a retired United States diplomat. He served as the US ambassador in Bulgaria, Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro. Early life and education Montgomery has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bucknell University and a Master's degree in Business Administration in International Business from George Washington University. While working for the Department of State, he attended the National War College for its one-year program in 1986-87. Career Montgomery served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970, including one year of service in the War in Vietnam. He started his career as a United States Foreign Service Officer in 1974.
