Hugh Dallas
Hugh Dallas Order of the British Empire, MBE (born 26 October 1957) is a Scottish former association football, football Referee (association football), referee. He officiated at two FIFA World Cup tournaments, in 1998 FIFA World Cup, 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cup, 2002; he was appointed fourth official for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final. Dallas also officiated at the Football at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996 Olympic Games, the 1999 UEFA Cup Final and several UEFA Champions League matches. From June 2009 until November 2010, Dallas was the Scottish Football Association, SFA's Referee Development Officer. He is a UEFA Referee Officer. He is also currently the Referee Development Consultant for Turkish Football Federation, TFF's Arbitration Committee, a position he has been occupying since June 2022. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding valuable service in a wide range of useful activities. It comprises five classes of awards across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a Orders, decorations, and medals of the United Kingdom#Modern honours, knight if male or a dame (title), dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with the order, but are not members of it. The order was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V, who created the order to recognise 'such persons, male or female, as may have rendered or shall hereafter render important services to Our Empire'. In association football, diving is an attempt by a player to gain an unfair advantage by falling to the ground and, often, feigning injury to give the impression that a foul (football), foul has been committed. Brian McGinlay (born 24 August 1945) is a retired football referee from Scotland, who officiated in 98 European club competition and international matches. Refereeing career At the domestic level McGinlay has refereed 21 Old Firm derbies, during which he never sent off a player, but he considers his most nerve-racking match to be the Rangers–Aberdeen title decider match at the climax of the 1990–91 season. The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a European football club competition contested annually by the winners of domestic cup competitions. The competition's official name was originally the European Cup Winners' Cup; it was renamed the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1994.
