Hubert Meilleur is a politician from Quebec, Canada. Meilleur was the mayor of Mirabel. Mayor He was first elected as mayor in 1987 and was re-elected in 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007. Under his tenure, Mirabel's population increased, going from 15,000 to 34,000. As mayor, Meilleur opposed the decision, announced in December 2006 by the government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, to return 4,450 hectares of farmland expropriated in 1969 to build Mirabel airport. Provincial politics Meilleur and his wife Ritha Cossette each served as president of the ADQ. Meilleur ran for a seat at the National Assembly in 1994 in the district of Argenteuil. Moncef Guitouni (1939–2011, Arabic: ) was a psycho-sociologist in Quebec, Canada. He was the President of the ADQ in 1994. Early life and education Born and raised in Tunis, French protectorate of Tunisia, he studied in France and moved to Canada in 1968. Career Guitouni supported the Liberals in the 1980s and became President of the ADQ in 1994. During the provincial election campaign of 1994, Radio Canada’s news program ''Le Point'' claimed that he had a faked resume, questioned his business practices and likened him to a con artist. Guitouni was fired on the spot by the ADQ, while many of his customers walked away from his clinics. The accusations made against him turned out to be wrong. The 2008 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on December 8, 2008. The Quebec Liberal Party, under incumbent Premier Jean Charest, was re-elected with a majority government, marking the first time since the 1950s (when the Union Nationale of Maurice Duplessis won four consecutive elections) that a party or leader was elected to a third consecutive mandate, and the first time for the Liberals since the 1930s, when Louis-Alexandre Taschereau was Premier. The 2007 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on March 26, 2007 to elect members of the 38th National Assembly of Quebec. Denise Beaudoin
Denise Beaudoin (born February 24, 1949) is a Canadian businessperson, lawyer, and former politician. She was first elected to represent the riding of Mirabel in the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2003 provincial election, but was defeated in the 2007 provincial election by François Desrochers of the Action démocratique du Québec. She was subsequently re-elected in the 2008 provincial election, 2012 provincial election and defeated again in the 2014 provincial election by Sylvie D'Amours of the Coalition Avenir Québec. She is a member of the Parti Québécois. Born in Lachute, Quebec, Beaudoin is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and the Université de Montréal obtaining a bachelor's degree as well as a law licence from Ottawa. The 2003 Quebec general election was held on April 14, 2003, to elect members of the National Assembly of Quebec (Canada). The Parti libéral du Québec (PLQ), led by Jean Charest, defeated the incumbent Parti Québécois, led by Premier Bernard Landry.
