The Chengdu Metro is the rapid transit system of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, China. With the opening of Line 1 on 27 September 2010, the system consists of 12 subway lines and 1 light rail line. It has subsequently undergone rapid expansion. Since the opening of Lines 6, 8, 9, and 17 on 18 December 2020, the Chengdu Metro is the 4th longest metro system in the world. There are currently 12 operating subway lines totaling of track, and 1 tram line ( Line T2). The Chengdu Metro serves over 8 million trips per day. As of 2021, about 2.2 million and 4.6 million people live within of a subway station in Chengdu, respectively. Wuhou District
Wuhou District () is one of 12 District (China), urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, Sichuan Province, Southwest China. It contains the historic site, Wuhou Temple and Jinli Street. The district is bordered by Jinjiang District to the east, Shuangliu County to the south and west, and Qingyang District to the north. Wuhou District is the largest of the five internal districts of Chengdu as well as being the wealthiest. It contains the areas of Yulin and Shuangnan which are considered to be the two areas of Chengdu with the highest living standards. Line 10 (Chengdu Metro)
Line 10 of the Chengdu Metro () runs from Taipingyuan in Wuhou to Xinping in Xinjin. Currently, the line is long. In 2024, the line will be 43.9 km long with the 5.9 km northeastern extension (Phase 3) to People's Park. Phase I of Line 10 began construction in July 2014 and opened in September 2017. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks.
