Hsieh Ming-yuan
Hsieh Ming-yuan (; born 3 September 1952) is a Taiwanese politician. Education Hsieh graduated from National Chung Hsing University with a degree in business. Political career Hsieh led the Taichung chapter of the Democratic Progressive Party and served two terms on the Taichung City Council from 1994 to 2002. He helped run the legislative campaigns of Michael Tsai and led presidential candidate Chen Shui-bian's Taichung campaign in 2000. Hsieh was elected to the Legislative Yuan for the first time in December 2001 and reelected in December 2004. Lin Chia-lung (; born 13 February 1964) is a Taiwanese academic and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) politician. He was elected mayor of Taichung City in November 2014 and took office on 25 December 2014. Chen Shui-bian
Chen Shui-bian (; born 12 October 1950) is a retired Taiwanese politician and lawyer who served as the president of the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 2000 to 2008. Chen was the first president from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) which ended the Kuomintang's (KMT) 55 years of continuous rule in Taiwan. He is colloquially referred to as A-Bian (阿扁). A lawyer, Chen entered politics in 1980 during the Kaohsiung Incident as a member of the Tangwai movement and was elected to the Taipei City Council in 1981. He was jailed in 1985 for libel as the editor of the weekly pro-democracy magazine ''Neo-Formosa'', following publication of an article critical of Elmer Fung, a college philosophy professor who was later elected a New Party legislator. Michael Tsai
Michael Tsai (; born 9 August 1941) is a Taiwanese politician. Academic and legal career Tsai earned a bachelor's of law degree from National Taiwan University before seeking further education in the United States with a master's in business administration from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. For three years, he was a research fellow at the Center for Human Resources Development at San Diego State University. Tsai also practiced law in California, New York, and New Jersey before returning to Taiwan, where he taught law at National Taichung Institute of Technology and National Air University from 1991 to 2002.
