Hristo Botev (radio)
Hristo Botev Radio ( Bulgarian: Програма Христо Ботев) is a state-owned Bulgarian radio station, part of the Bulgarian National Radio Network. Hristo Botev Radio broadcasts around the clock and is dedicated to culture and education. Music Classical music, opera, and concerts are broadcast in high-quality sound, often live and before an audience. Journalistic commentaries as well as interviews with the artists feature throughout. The station's website has also a section for streaming live concerts so they can be heard online. Programmes Hristo Botev is the only Bulgarian radio station to broadcast radio drama, foreign-language courses, and educational programmes based on contemporary international issues. On Monday to Friday mornings there is the talk show "Our Day" ("Нашият ден") with specialised content for each day of the week - economics, law, social, domestic, and foreign politics. Bulgarian Language
Bulgarian (, ; bg, label=none, български, bălgarski, ) is an Eastern South Slavic language spoken in Southeastern Europe, primarily in Bulgaria. It is the language of the Bulgarians. Along with the closely related Macedonian language (collectively forming the East South Slavic languages), it is a member of the Balkan sprachbund and South Slavic dialect continuum of the Indo-European language family. The two languages have several characteristics that set them apart from all other Slavic languages, including the elimination of case declension, the development of a suffixed definite article, and the lack of a verb infinitive. They retain and have further developed the Proto-Slavic verb system (albeit analytically). One such major development is the innovation of evidential verb forms to encode for the source of information: witnessed, inferred, or reported. Bulgarian National Radio ( bg, Българско национално радио, ''Bulgarsko natsionalno radio''; abbreviated to БНР, BNR) is Bulgaria's national radio broadcasting organisation. It operates two national and nine regional channels, as well as an international service – Radio Bulgaria – which broadcasts in 11 languages. History Listening to radio broadcasts from other countries having become popular in Bulgaria by the late 1920s, a group of engineers and intellectuals founded ''Rodno radio'' ("Native, or homeland, radio") on 30 March 1930 with the aim of providing Sofia with its own radio station. Euroclassic Notturno
''Euroclassic Notturno'' is a six-hour radio sequence of classical music recordings assembled by BBC Radio from material supplied by members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and distributed, via the EBU's Euroradio satellite network, to a number of these broadcasters for use in their overnight classical music schedules. The recordings used are not taken from commercially available CDs but come instead from earlier (usually live) radio broadcasts. Though supplied by the BBC on a commercial basis, the service nevertheless claims to provide broadcasters with a less expensive alternative to local origination of overnight classical-music programming. Format The sequence is put together by a small BBC team in London and Salford, and gaps are provided in the schedule to allow for local origination of explanatory material in each broadcaster's national language (written programme notes in English are supplied by the BBC some weeks in advance), top-of-the-hour news summaries, etc ...
