Howrah Union
Howrah Union is an Indian multisports club based in the city of Kolkata, whose football team competes in the Calcutta Football League. The club previously competed in Super Division of CFL. Their cricket team plays in the CAB tournaments. History Howrah Union club was formed in 1922, by Panchanon Choungda from Amta, Howrah. Initially they played football at Howrah Maidan and eventually got affiliation from the Indian Football Association and joined Calcutta Football League. They got promoted to the First Division in 1929 and won the Trades Cup in 1932. In the 1936 IFA Shield, they went till the semi-finals by defeating the 1933 winners Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. They shifted to their current ground at the Kolkata Maidan in 1962 which they share with Mohammedan Sporting. Mohammedan Sporting–Howrah Union Ground
Mohammedan Sporting Ground, also known as Mohammedan Sporting–Howrah Union Ground, is a multi-use stadium in Kolkata, India. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is mainly the home stadium of Mohammedan Sporting. The ground has a natural grass turf. Having facilities such as commentary boxes for radio and TV, press box and air conditioned changing rooms, the stadium holds 15,000 people. Sailendra Nath Manna ( bn, শৈলেন মান্না; 1 September 1924 – 27 February 2012), known popularly as Sailen Manna, was an Indian football player who represented the India national team between 1948 and 1956. Predominantly played as a left-back, Manna is considered as one of the best defenders the country has ever produced. He has represented and captained India in different international competitions, including the Olympics and Asian Games. He also has represented Mohun Bagan in club football, one of the oldest clubs in India, for a continuous period of 19 years. Bordoloi Trophy
The Bordoloi Trophy, also known as the Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy, is a premier annual Indian football tournament held in Guwahati and organized by Guwahati Sports Association (GSA). The tournament was first started in 1952 and is named after Assam's first chief minister Gopinath Bordoloi. Stafford Challenge Cup
The Stafford Challenge Cup is an Indian football tournament held in Karnataka, organized by the Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA). Instituted in 1938, it is the oldest football tournament in South India. The tournament was abolished in 1993, but was revived in 2023.
