Autonomous State Demand Committee (United)
Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), originally Peoples Democratic Front, was set up as a mass organization of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation with the aim of statehood for the Karbi Anglong District, Karbi Anglong region in the India state of Assam. ASDC was active in the districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao district, Dima Hasao (North Chachar Hills). Several elections to the Lok Sabha and the District Council were won under ASDC banner. Jayanta Rongpi, Dr. Jayanta Rongpi represented the area in the Lok Sabha, elected as the ASDC candidate in 1991, 1996 and 1998. Howraghat (IPA: ˈhɑʊrəˌgɑːt) is a town in the Karbi Anglong district of the Indian state of Assam. It is home to many indigenous communities mainly Karbi, Dimasa Kachari, Tiwa (Lalung) Kachari, Bodo Kachari, etc. Etymology The name "Howraghat" came from Karbi words 'Hawar Kehat' meaning ''crossing border''. 2011 Assam Legislative Assembly Election
The 13th Assam Legislative Assembly election was held in two phases on 4 and 11 April 2011 to elect members from 126 constituencies in Assam, India. The result was announced on 13 May. The Assam Legislative Assembly Election of 2016 was held in two phases, on 4 and 11 April 2016, to elect members of the 126 constituencies in Assam, a state in North-eastern India.
