Howard Brown (Halifax Bank)
Howard Brown (born c. 1966) is a former customer services representative and sales ambassador for HBOS plc, which owned both Bank of Scotland and Halifax Bank (previously the Halifax Building Society) in the United Kingdom. He is best known for his appearances in Halifax/HBOS television advertisements, often singing and dancing. Biography He was born in Sheldon, Birmingham, and is of Barbadian descent. Halifax Between 1994 and 2011 Brown worked for HBOS Group. Brown became the star of the HBOS Marketing Campaign in 2000, which resulted in him singing in most of his adverts. In June 2022, Halifax Bank announced on Twitter that they would begin adding pronouns to name tags. This received some criticism on social media, and in response Halifax doubled-down on their stance. Sheldon, West Midlands
Sheldon is an area of east Birmingham, England. Historically part of Warwickshire, it is close to the border with the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull and Birmingham Airport. Sheldon is also one of the 69 electoral wards in Birmingham, and one of the four wards that make up the council constituency of Yardley. It covers an area of . Areas covered by the ward are Lyndon Green, Well's Green, Sheldon itself and part of Garrett's Green. Sheldon was mentioned in the Domesday Book as ''Machitone'', meaning "Macca's farm". ''Hypothetical'' is a British television comedy panel show created by British comedian Josh Widdicombe, with Tom Craine and Matthew Crosby. Widdicombe hosts the show alongside fellow comedian James Acaster. The TV series features teams of celebrity guests (often comedians), who are presented with a bizarre hypothetical situation by Widdicombe. First Dates
''First Dates'' is a British reality television programme that has aired on Channel 4 since 20 June 2013. The programme has been narrated by Brian Protheroe since 2015. Production The programme was filmed at the Paternoster Chop House restaurant in Paternoster Square, central London from 2013 to 2020, showing many people on dates, all of whom have not met each other before. At the end of the date, the couples are interviewed together and asked whether they would like to see each other again. The restaurant is closed to the public while filming takes place. The restaurant is fitted with 42 "Pan–tilt–zoom" cameras and there are at least 70 crew members on set during filming, which lasts 15 hours a day.
