Howald railway station (, , ) is a railway station in Luxembourg on CFL Line 60, line 6, which opened on December 10, 2017. It is located in Howald, in the commune of Hesperange, in the canton of Luxembourg. It is operated by Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, Société nationale des chemins de fer luxembourgeois (CFL). Railway situation At 289 meters above sea level, Howald station is located at kilometre point (PK) 14.400 of line 6, between Luxembourg railway station, Luxembourg and Berchem railway station, Berchem stations. History The original Howald station opened on September 26, 1992, with a single platform and very limited facilities. The service was suspended for work between September 2000 and June 2002, before being definitively withdrawn on December 11, 2015.. Plans for a new station in Howald were first mentioned in 2009, and funding to build the station was granted on December 17, 2010.. The station's opening was initially scheduled for 2015 ...

Howald
Howald () is a town in the commune of Hesperange, in southern Luxembourg. The town merges almost seamlessly with Luxembourg City's south-eastern suburban quarter of South Bonnevoie, which lies to the north of Howald. , the town has a population of 5,815, making it the most populous town in the commune and the 22nd-most populous in Luxembourg. Through Howald runs the ''route de Thionville'', one of Luxembourg's historically most-important roads, which runs from Luxembourg City to the French town of Thionville (which had been a part of Luxembourg until 1659). However, for cross-border travel, this has since been supplanted by the A3 motorway, which connects the same two cities via Bettembourg and Dudelange, and the northern terminus of which is just to the west of the town, on the other side of the railway track.
