''How to Steal a Country'' (theatrically as Att stjäla ett land), is a 2019 South African documentary film directed by Rehad Desai and co-produced by director himself with Anita Khanna and Zivia Desai Keiper. Synopsis The film revolves around an example of the concept of state capture in South Africa, based on the revelations by whistleblowers and investigative journalists of alleged corruption scandals surrounding former President Jacob Zuma and the Gupta family, primarily in the years from 2013 to 2018. Robin William Renwick, Baron Renwick of Clifton, (born 13 December 1937) is a former diplomat and a former member of the House of Lords. He was first a Labour peer but moved to the crossbenches in 2007. He retired from the House in 2018. Lord Renwick was educated at St Paul's School and graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge, in 1962 with a Master of Arts in history. He further studied at the Sorbonne. From 1956 to 1958 he completed national service in the British Army. In 1963 he entered the British Foreign Service and had the postings detailed below. International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam
The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is the world's largest documentary film festival held annually since 1988 in Amsterdam. Over a period of twelve days, it has screened more than 300 films and sold more than 250,000 tickets. Visitors to the festival have increased from 65,000 in 2000 to 285,000 in 2018. The Vrede Dairy Project is a dairy project established in 2012 on Krynaauwslust Farm, near the town of Vrede, Free State Province, South Africa. The dairy was established as a public-private partnership with Estina, a Black Economic Empowerment company, as part of the Free State provincial government's agricultural project, ''Mohoma-Mobung''. Estina was given the land under a free 99 year lease. The aim of the R250m dairy project was to empower black farmers, but bank statements show that no payments were made to black beneficiaries. The dairy farm was just a shell through which money was sent to India. On 14 January 2022, the Premier of the Free State Sisi Ntombela handed over the project to 65 local farmers for management and implementation, with oversight from a trust and executive team.
