How To Leave Town
''How to Leave Town'' is the second extended play (EP) by American musician Will Toledo, released under the alias Car Seat Headrest. It was self-published on Bandcamp on October 31, 2014. The EP would end up being Car Seat Headrest's final release as a solo project, and final independent release, as Toledo would expand Car Seat Headrest into a band and sign to Matador Records the next year. Material for the EP came from demos Toledo initially discarded while writing ''Teens of Denial'' (2016), and the music blends the Lo-fi music, lo-fi, indie rock, and indietronica production styles featured on his prior releases. Despite its "album-sized" length, Toledo deemed ''How to Leave Town'' an EP since it "explores realms which might have otherwise gone untreaded" on Car Seat Headrest's albums. Car Seat Headrest is an American indie rock band formed in Leesburg, Virginia, and currently located in Seattle, Seattle, Washington. The band consists of Will Toledo (vocals, guitar, piano, synthesizers), Ethan Ives (guitar, bass, backing vocals), Seth Dalby (bass), and Andrew Katz (drums, percussion, backing vocals). ''All Delighted People'' is an Extended play, EP by Sufjan Stevens, released online by Asthmatic Kitty Records on August 20, 2010. It is centered around two versions of Stevens' ballad "All Delighted People". According to the official release webpage it is an "homage to the Apocalypse, Existentialism, existential ennui, and Paul Simon's 'The Sound of Silence, Sound of Silence'". It debuted at #48 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and jumped to number #27 the week after. Critical reception ''All Delighted People'' received mostly positive reviews from contemporary music critics. The Elephant 6 Recording Company is a loosely defined musical collective from the United States. Saddle Creek Records is an American record label based in Omaha, Nebraska. Started as a college class project on entrepreneurship, the label was founded by Mike Mogis and Justin Oberst in 1993 (as Lumberjack Records). Mogis soon turned over his role in the company to Robb Nansel. Sparklehorse was an American indie rock band from Richmond, Virginia, led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Linkous. It was active from 1995 until Linkous's 2010 death. Before forming Sparklehorse, Linkous fronted local bands Johnson Family and Salt Chunk Mary. Only one song, "Someday I Will Treat You Good", survived from these earlier bands to be played by Sparklehorse. Linkous said he chose the name Sparklehorse because the two words sounded good together and could be a loose metaphor for a motorcycle.
