''How Should We Then Live: The Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture'' is a Christianity, Christian cultural and historical documentary film series and book. The book was written by presuppositionalist theologian Francis A. Schaeffer and first published in 1976. The book served as the basis for a series of ten films. Schaeffer narrated and appeared throughout the film series, which was produced by his son Frank Schaeffer and directed by John Gonser. In the film series, Schaeffer criticized the influences of the Renaissance, the Age of Enlightenment, Enlightenment, and Charles Darwin as leading to moral relativism, nihilism, and the erosion of absolute values. The films were credited with inspiring a number of leaders of the American Christian fundamentalism, conservative evangelical movement, including Jerry Falwell. The Christian right are Christian political factions characterized by their strong support of socially conservative and traditionalist policies. Colin Duriez (born 19 July 1947) is an English writer on fantasy, especially that of the Inklings literary group centred around the Christian authors C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien. Life and works Colin Duriez was born in Derbyshire on 19 July 1947. He moved to Leicester in 1983 to work with a small publisher, IVP, as a commissioning editor. He took various teaching and editing jobs, and in 2002 he started his own business in Keswick, Cumbria, InWriting, devoted to writing, editorial services, and book acquisition for publishers. Billy Zeoli was an American evangelical leader, speaker and media executive from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Zeoli served as the White house chaplain to U.S. President Gerald R. Ford and Betty Ford during the mid-1970s offering counsel on national spiritual matters, and acting as spiritual counselor to President Ford. In the 1960s, Zeoli was an early organizer of what would become Baseball Chapel, a Christian organization that provides professional Baseball players, and other athletes, Sunday church services in their locker rooms before sporting events. Henderik Roelof "Hans" Rookmaaker (February 27, 1922 – March 13, 1977) was a Dutch Christian scholar, professor, and author who wrote and lectured on art theory, art history, music, philosophy, and religion. In 1948 he met Christian theologian Francis Schaeffer and became a member of L'Abri in Switzerland. Rookmaaker and his wife Anky opened a Dutch branch of L'Abri in 1971. Following a doctorate in art history with a dissertation on Gauguin at the University of Amsterdam, he founded the art history department at the Free University in Amsterdam. Rookmaaker addressed ambiguity about art among Christians and ambiguity about faith among artists. His main thesis was laid out in his 1970 publication entitled ''Modern Art and The Death of a Culture''.
