Ronnie van Hout (born 22 February 1962) is a New Zealand artist and musician living in Melbourne, Australia. He works across a wide variety of media including sculpture, video, painting, photography, embroidery, and sound recordings. Early life and education Born in Christchurch on 22 February 1962, Van Hout attended the Ilam School of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury between 1980 and 1982, where he majored in film. In 1999, he gained a Master of Fine Arts from RMIT University, Melbourne. Music The Pin Group In the early eighties while still studying at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts, van Hout became involved in the Christchurch music scene. Initially he worked with The Pin Group, who were signed to Flying Nun Records, designing posters and filming them in action. Shafiq Al-Hout
Shafiq al-Hout, also spelled Shafik al-Hut (; 13 January 1932 – 2 August 2009), was a Palestinian politician and writer. Born in Jaffa, he and his family fled to Beirut at the onset of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. There, al-Hout became a journalist at '' Al Hawadeth'' magazine. Using it as a platform, he founded the Palestine Liberation Front in 1961 and later became a founder of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1964. He remained a senior member of the organization, representing it in Lebanon and the United Nations General Assembly. Initially a close aid to Yasser Arafat, al-Hout resigned from his position on the PLO Executive Committee, in protest of Arafat's signing of the Oslo Accords. Wilhelmus Henricus Maria van den Hout ('s-Hertogenbosch, 3 June 1915 – The Hague, 24 February 1985) was a Dutch writer and publicist, best known as the writer (under the pseudonym Willy van der Heide) of the Bob Evers series of children's books. Van den Hout lost his credentials as a journalist after World War II for having collaborated with the Nazi propaganda machine, but gained commercial success with the Bob Evers series. He also used the pseudonyms Willy Waterman, Willem W. Waterman, Sylvia Sillevis, Victor Valstar, Victor H. Huitink, Joke Raviera, Zsa Zsa Ferguson and C.B.
