Houston Dynamo
Houston Dynamo Football Club is an American professional soccer club based in Houston. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. Established on December 15, 2005, the club was founded after their former owners relocated the San Jose Earthquakes' players and staff to Houston following the 2005 season. For their first six seasons in Houston, the Dynamo played at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston. During the 2012 season, the club moved to Shell Energy Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium in East Downtown Houston. The club is majority-owned by Ted Segal. Segal fully controls ownership after buying out his remaining minority partners in August 2022. 2008 Houston Dynamo Season
The 2008 Houston Dynamo season was the third season of the existence for the Houston franchise. The Houston Dynamo were the defending back-to-back MLS Cup Champions, and sought to become the first club in Major League Soccer history to win three straight MLS Cups. It was the team's third season with head coach Dominic Kinnear, majority owner Philip Anschultz, president Oliver Luck, and chief operating officer Chris Canetti. In the MLS regular season, the Dynamo finished first in the Western Conference to qualify for the playoffs for the third consecutive season. In the MLS Cup Playoffs, Houston lost to the New York Red Bulls 4–1 on aggregate in the Conference Semifinals. They were eliminated by the Charleston Battery in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. Óscar Boniek García Ramírez (born 4 September 1984) is a Honduran former professional Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Ricardo Clark
Ricardo Anthony Clark (born February 10, 1983) is an American former soccer player who played as a midfielder. He appeared for MetroStars, San Jose Earthquakes, Houston Dynamo and Columbus Crew SC in the United States, Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, and Stabæk in Norway. Clark also appeared for the United States national team. A native of Atlanta, Clark played two years in college at Furman before being drafted second overall in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft by MetroStars. After two seasons and nearly 100 appearances, he was traded to San Jose Earthquakes. Bradley Joseph Davis (born November 8, 1981) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. Career Youth and College Davis attended high school at Chaminade College Preparatory School in Missouri. When he was 16, he had the chance to move to The Netherlands and join the PSV Eindhoven academy, but Davis opted to stay at home. He joined Saint Louis University (SLU) in 2000, where he played for two seasons before leaving college soccer for the professional ranks. While at SLU, Davis was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year his first year, and a second team NSCAA All-American as a sophomore. Texas Pro Soccer Festival 2008
The 2008 Texas Pro Soccer Festival held in San Antonio, Texas, was a four-team round robin pre-season competition hosted by th(SAMYS a 501 (c)3 nonprofit charity cofounded bDr. Edward P. Sakiewicz The event was organized in cooperation and assistance with the Houston Dynamo under the leadership oChris Canetti President of Business Operations. The Dynamo were a large part of assisting SAMYS as a week-long pre-season training camp. 2008 marked the first year that the Dynamo hosted a pre-season tournament in cooperation with SAMYS. The participating MLS teams trained daily at Pepsi Soccer, TX, the facility developed by SAMYS in Schertz, Texas. The teams competed amongst each other in double-header exhibition matches at Steele Stadium in Cibolo, Texas. 2015 Carolina Challenge Cup
The 2015 Carolina Challenge Cup was the 12th staging of the tournament. The tournament ran between February 21–28. The defending champions, D.C. United, did not participate in the 2015 edition of the tournament (due to their participation in the 2014–15 CONCACAF Champions League), though Houston Dynamo remained along with hosts Charleston Battery.
