Houma Tribe
The Houma () are a historic Native Americans in the United States, Native American people of Louisiana and Mississippi on the east side of the Red River of the South. They once spoke a Western Muskogean language. Language The Houma spoke the Houma language, which is poorly attested but believed to be a Western Muskogean language. The last has been extinct since at least 1907, when anthropologist John Reed Swanton collected a list of 75 Houma words which are similar to the Choctaw language. Crayfish
Crayfish are freshwater crustaceans belonging to the infraorder Astacidea, which also contains lobsters. Taxonomically, they are members of the superfamilies Astacoidea and Parastacoidea. The Bayogoula (also known as the Bayagoula, Bayagola, or Bayugla) were a Native American tribe from Louisiana in the southern United States. John Reed Swanton translated the name to mean "bayou people" and wrote that they lived near Bayou Goula in Iberville Parish, Louisiana. Their name has been written as . Pierre Le Moyne D'Iberville
Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville (16 July 1661 – 9 July 1706) or Sieur d'Iberville was a French soldier, explorer, colonial administrator, and trader. He is noted for founding the colony of Louisiana in New France. He was born in Montreal to French colonist parents. West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana
West Feliciana Parish (French: ''Paroisse de Feliciana Ouest''; Spanish: ''Parroquia de Feliciana Occidental'') is a civil parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. At the 2020 census, the population was 15,310. The parish seat is St. Francisville. The parish was established in 1824.
