Hot Ticket
''Hot Ticket'' is a syndicated movie review and entertainment television program from 2001 to 2004. The half-hour show was hosted by Leonard Maltin and Todd Newton during its first season, and by Maltin and Joyce Kulhawik in seasons 2 and 3. It was distributed by Paramount Domestic Television. The show featured MTV-style fast cutting. For each movie, the hosts voted Hot or Not Hot or Not was a rating site that allowed users to submit photos of themselves to be rated by other users on a scale of 1 to 10, with the average becoming the photo's score. The site also offered a matchmaking engine called 'Meet Me' and an ext ... with red or blue cards. Leonard Maltin
Leonard Michael Maltin (born December 18, 1950) is an American film critic, film historian, and author. He is known for his book of film capsule reviews, '' Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide'', published from 1969 to 2014. Maltin was the film critic on ''Entertainment Tonight'' from 1982 to 2012. He currently teaches at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and hosts the weekly podcast ''Maltin on Movies''. He served two terms as President of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and votes for films to be selected for the National Film Registry. He has written books on animation and the history of film. He has also hosted numerous specials and provided commentary for several films. James Todd Newton is an American entertainment reporter, game show host, and author. Career Todd Newton started his entertainment career at age sixteen as a disc jockey for Kincaid Entertainment in St. Louis. Later, the company found a role for him on its KMOV children's television show Gator Tales. While visiting Los Angeles in 1994 to report on Hollywood for St. Louis television station KPLR, Newton — then a radio personality known as Rikk Idol, signed with an agent and became a host on E! Joyce Kulhawik ( ; born 1954) is an American critic who was the arts and entertainment anchor for CBS affiliate WBZ-TV News in Boston, Massachusetts. Early life and career Kulhawik joined WBZ-TV in 1978 as an associate producer and tipster for ''Evening Magazine''. In 1981 she became the station's arts and entertainment reporter and played a key role in the public service campaign, “You Gotta Have Arts!” As part of the campaign, Kulhawik hosted the station's Emmy Award-winning “You Gotta Have Arts!” magazine program during its one-year run, as well as three specials, the first of which received an Emmy Award in 1982. Fast Cutting
Fast cutting is a film editing technique which refers to several consecutive shot (filming), shots of a brief duration (e.g. 3 seconds or less). It can be used to quickly convey much information, or to imply either energy or chaos. Fast cutting is also frequently used when shooting dialogue between two or more characters, changing the viewer's perspective to either focus on the reaction of another character's dialog, or to bring to attention the non-verbal actions of the speaking character.
