Hossein Ronaghi
Hossein Ronaghi Maleki (; born July 4, 1985) better known as Hossein Ronaghi () is an Iranian human rights activist and blogger. He spent a total of 6 years in prison since 2009 for his activities. In 2022, after his re-arrest he became one of the well-known faces of Mahsa Amini protests. Early life Hossein Ronaghi was born on 4 July 1985 in Malekan, East Azerbaijan province, East Azerbaijan. He was a computer software engineering student at Arak, Iran, Arak Islamic Azad University, Azad University. Biography He was first imprisoned on 13 December 2009, for his activities in the 2009 Iranian presidential election protests. Before the 2009 presidential election of Iran, Ronaghi was blogging under the pseudonym of Babak Khorramdin. He was in charge of the anti-censorship committee ''Iran Proxy''. Global Voices is an international community of writers, bloggers and digital activists that aim to translate and report on what is being said in citizen media worldwide. It is a non-profit project started at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School that grew out of an international bloggers' meeting held in December 2004.
