Hossein Gharibi
Hossein Gharibi ( fa, حسین قریبی; born 14 February 1969) is an Iranian diplomat who served as the Iranian Ambassador to Brazil from March 2020 to March 2024. Early life and education Gharibi earned a B.A. in "Diplomatic Relations" from the School of International Relations in Tehran. He also earned a M.A. in "Diplomacy in International Organizations" from the same school. He earned his Ph.D. in International Relations from Allameh Tabataba'i University in Tehran. Career Gharibi served as Deputy Director of the Center for Diplomatic Training in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from January 1997 to December 1999. He then served as Third Secretary at the Iranian Embassy in Rome, Italy from December 1999 to January 2003. From 2000 to 2002, he also acted as an Observer Member to the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property in Rome. The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a forum of 120 countries that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. After the United Nations, it is the largest grouping of states worldwide. The movement originated in the aftermath of the Korean War, as an effort by some countries to counterbalance the rapid bi-polarization of the world during the Cold War, whereby two major powers formed blocs and embarked on a policy to pull the rest of the world into their orbits.
