Hossam Shabat
Hossam Shabat (; 10 October 2001 – 24 March 2025) was a Palestinian journalist who reported on the Gaza war as a correspondent for ''Al Jazeera Mubasher'' and also contributed to ''Drop Site News''. Shabat was killed by an Israeli airstrike on 24 March 2025, after Israel ended the ceasefire established in January 2025 by resuming airstrikes on Gaza. Shabat and another Palestinian journalist, Mohammed Mansour, also killed by the Israeli military on 24 March, are among the at least 208 journalists and media workers who have been killed in the Gaza war until that day. On 23 October 2024, the Israeli military, without providing verifiable evidence, had accused Shabat and five other Palestinian journalists of being members of the militant groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad, accusations which he denied and said served as threats against his life. Beit Hanoun
Beit Hanoun or Beit Hanun ( ar, بيت حانون) is a city on the northeast edge of the Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the town had a population of 32,187 in mid-2006. It is administered by the Hamas administration. It is located by the Hanoun stream, just away from the Israeli town of Sderot. After 19 Palestinian civilians died during shelling by the IDF in 2006, the United Nations appointed a fact-finding commission, to be led by Desmond Tutu, to investigate if the shelling constituted a war crime; but the investigation was cancelled due to the lack of Israeli cooperation. Israel has been accused by experts, governments, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations of carrying out a genocide against the Palestinian people during its invasion and bombing of the Gaza Strip as part of the ongoing Israel–Hamas war. Killing Of Ismail Al-Ghoul
Ismail Al-Ghoul (; 14 January 1997 – 31 July 2024) was a Palestinian journalist and an Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent in the Gaza Strip. On 31 July 2024, Al-Ghoul and Al Jazeera cameraman Rami Al Refee were assassinated by an IDF airstrike while covering the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh near his family home in the Northern Gaza Strip.
