Hosne Ara Rahman
Hosne Ara Rahman ( 1934 – 17 June 2017) was a Bangladeshi public figure, former First Lady of Bangladesh, and the wife of former President Abdur Rahman Biswas. Rahman served as the country's First Lady from 10 October 1991, until 9 October 1996. Rahman died from complications of old age at United Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 17 June 2017, at the age of 83. She was survived by her husband, former President Abdur Rahman Biswas, their two daughters, Akhi Biswas and Rakhi Biswas, and four of their five sons - Monu Biswas, Shamsuddoza Kamal Biswas, Jamilur Rahman Shibli Biswas, and Muidur Rahman Romel Biswas. She was also a cousin of Rashed Khan Menon, the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism. First Lady Of Bangladesh
First Lady of Bangladesh is the unofficial title given to the spouse of the president of Bangladesh. Prominent former first ladies include former prime minister Khaleda Zia and former opposition leader Rowshan Ershad. The incumbent first lady is Rashida Hamid. The title should not be confused with the husband or wife of the prime minister of Bangladesh. Duties Duties of the first lady are receiving foreign leaders along with the president, conversing with the spouse of the foreign leader, being a role model for the people of the nation, promoting of policies by the government urging public support of policies, and advocating for socio-economic change. Rashed Khan Menon
Rashed Khan Menon (born 18 May 1943) is a Bangladeshi politician. He is the president of Workers Party of Bangladesh and was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dhaka-8 in the 2008 general election. Menon was re-elected at the 2014 general elections. He is the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Education. Earlier, he served as the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism. Early life Menon was born in Faridpur. He studied at Dhaka Collegiate School, finish in 1958. In 1960, he passed intermediate in arts group from Dhaka College. He graduated from Dhaka University in 1963 with a degree in economics. In 1964, he received his master's degree. In the late 1960s, Menon was president of the East Pakistan Students Union faction linked to the National Awami Party of Maulana Bhasani. Gulshan ( bn, গুলশান) is a thana situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is an affluent residential and business neighbourhood; and is now home to a number of the city's restaurants, shopping centres, schools, banks, members' clubs and hosts the majority of embassies and high commissions in Bangladesh. Rowshan Ershad
Roushan Ershad (born 19 July 1943) is a Bangladesh Jatiya Party politician. She is the current Jatiya Sangsad member from Mymensingh-4 constituency and the incumbent Leader of the Opposition in the 11th parliament. She is the Chief Patron of the Jatiya Party (Ershad) and the widow of former Bangladesh president Hussain Muhammad Ershad. Political Career As the First Lady during 1982–1990, Ershad was active in social welfare and in promoting the rights of women and children.
