Hortapharm B.V.
HortaPharm B.V. was a cannabis research business headquartered in the Netherlands. History The business was founded by the late American, David Watson, in the early 1990s, with seeds he created for his company, Sacred Seeds in California. David W. Pate and Robert C. Clarke were employed by the company. From September 1994 until September 1997 HortaPharm had a permit from the Dutch Ministry of Health for scientific research of cannabis; this permit was rescinded due to compliance issues. In 1998, HortaPharm B.V. began work with GW Pharmaceuticals to develop cannabis strains for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. Sam The Skunkman
David Paul Watson, better known as Sam the Skunkman was an American breeder, who is credited with the development of some of the most popular modern cannabis varieties such as Skunk#1, Haze, and Amnesia, and the apparition of high-cannabidiol varieties. Biography Watson moved to the Netherlands in 1985 where he also worked with Mellow Yellow "Mellow Yellow" is a song written and recorded by Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. Robert Connell Clarke
Robert Connell Clarke (born 1953) is an American agronomist and ethnobotanist, specialized in the study of the cannabis plant. He has often been credited for having taken part in many developments of the licit hemp and cannabis sectors in the United States and the Netherlands since the 1980s. Biography Clarke graduated in 1977 from the University of California Santa Cruz. In the 1980s, he took part as a breeder in the creation of the cannabis seed bank ''Cultivators Choice'' together with David P. GW Pharmaceuticals Limited is a British pharmaceutics company known for its multiple sclerosis treatment product nabiximols (brand name, Sativex) which was the first natural cannabis plant derivative to gain market approval in any country.
