Horace Notice
Horace G. Notice (born 7 August 1957 in West Bromwich) is an English amateur and professional heavyweight boxer of the 1980s who as an amateur won the 1983 ABA Heavyweight Championship boxing out of the Nechells Green ABC (Birmingham. As a professional, Notice won the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) British heavyweight title, and Commonwealth heavyweight title, his professional fighting weight varied from 196 lb, to 212 lb. After defending both his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles against Hughroy Currie, a retinal detachment prematurely ended his boxing career, and ruined his plans of a next defence. Horace said; "his only regrets were not fighting for a EBU title and facing the man that Frank Bruno avoided, David Pearce". The European Boxing Union (EBU), formerly known as the International Boxing Union (IBU), is a pan-European governing body that sanctions championship bouts in professional boxing. Anaclet Wamba
Anaclet Wamba (born January 6, 1960) is a Congolese-French former professional boxer who competed from 1982 to 1994. He held the WBC Cruiserweight title from 1990 until 1994. Amateur career Wamba had a notable amateur career. He represented the People's Republic of the Congo in the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games, as a Light Heavyweight where he lost to Benny Pike (Australia) in the round of 16. Professional career Wamba turned pro in 1982 and in 1990 landed a shot at WBC Cruiserweight Title holder Massimiliano Duran, but lost via disqualification in the 12th round. Wamba had been penalized a total of five points before he was disqualified. He was given a rematch with Duran the following year, and won the belt via TKO. He defended his belt seven times before being stripped, and he subsequently retired. Proud Chinembriri (1958 – 15 February 1994), known professionally as Proud Kilimanjaro, was a Zimbabwean heavyweight boxer, who was the Zimbabwean heavyweight champion between 1982 and his retirement in 1990, and African Boxing Union champion between 1982 and 1987, and again between 1988 and 1990. Jacqui Gordon-Lawrence is a British former actress, most famous for playing the role of Etta Tavernier in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. She no longer acts and as of 2008 works in criminal law. Career She trained to be a dancer at the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance in New York City, when she moved there with her Jamaican born parents. However, she felt she was not good enough to excel in this profession, so in 1981 she switched to stage acting and later to film and television. Her first notable role was in the 1989 film Strapless, where she played a nurse. However, her role in ''EastEnders'' has been her most notable. She played the school teacher Etta Tavernier from 1990–1992, returning briefly in 1994.
