Homunculus Loxodontus
''Homunculus Loxodontus'' (nicknamed Zhdun, "The One Who Waits", Snorp, or WOSH) is a statue by Dutch artist . It was made for the Leiden University Medical Center and installed in the spring of 2016. It became popular in post-Soviet countries where it is called '' Ждун'' (Russian informal term for "one who waits"). Composition The sculpture depicts a legless, gray creature with the head of a northern elephant seal, a larval body, and human arms clasped together in front of it. It sits on a waiting room chair, and, according to the sculptor, the figure symbolizes the emotions of people who wait at the doctor's office. The sculpture is made of plastic and epoxy resin, which, when mixed, form a clay-like substance that feels hard and rough to the touch. Stoned Fox
Stoned Fox is an anthropomorphic taxidermied fox that has become an Internet sensation in Russia. The fox died of natural causes. It was stuffed in 2012 by Welsh artist Adele Morse (originally from Blackwood, Caerphilly, now based in Dalston, East London), who at the time was taking a Masters course at the Royal Academy of London and made it as part of a school project. She put the finished work on eBay where it unexpectedly gained much attention. At the end of 2012, the fox quickly became an Internet meme in Russia. It has since been edited into famous paintings, photographs, videos, and other visual media. Chita, Zabaykalsky Krai
Chita (, ) is a city and the administrative center of Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia, located on the Trans-Siberian Railway route, roughly east of Irkutsk and roughly west of Khabarovsk. Population: History Pyotr Beketov's Cossacks founded Chita in 1653. The name of the settlement came from the local River Chita. Following the Decembrist revolt of 1825, from 1827 several of the Decembrists suffered exile to Chita. According to George Kennan, who visited the area in the 1880s, "Among the exiles in Chita were some of the brightest, most cultivated, most sympathetic men and women that we had met in Eastern Siberia." When Richard Maack visited the city in 1855, he saw a wooden town, with one church, also wooden. Balthazar is a Belgian indie pop/indie rock, rock group. The band consists of Maarten Devoldere, J. Bernardt, Jinte Deprez, Simon Casier, Michiel Balcaen, and Tijs Delbeke, who all come from the areas of Kortrijk and Ghent (Flanders).
