HSN, Inc. an initialism of its former name Home Shopping Network, is an American free-to-air television network owned by the QVC Group (formerly Qurate Retail Group), which also owns catalog company Cornerstone Brands. It is based in West Chester, Pennsylvania. As of July 2014, Joy Mangano holds the record for most units sold in a day with 216,000 units of pillow sets. Lowell White "Bud" Paxson (April 17, 1935 – January 9, 2015) was an American media executive. In 1982, Paxson and his business partner, Roy Speer, co-founded the Home Shopping Club (now called the Home Shopping Network). He established Pax TV in 1998, a television network focusing on family-friendly content. Life and career Lowell White Paxson was born on April 17, 1935 in Rochester, New York. Paxson began his career as an owner of WACK radio, a little 500-watt radio station in the village of Newark, New York. Joy Mangano ( ; born February 1, 1956) is an American inventor and entrepreneur known for inventions such as the self-wringing Miracle Mop. She was the president of Ingenious Designs, LLC, and appeared regularly on the U.S. television shopping channel HSN until her departure in late 2018.
