''Holy Terror'' is an album by rap/spoken word pioneers the Last Poets, released in 1995. The album was financed and released by P-Vine Records in Japan and then released by Rykodisc Records in the United States and the United Kingdom later that same year, with a rerelease in 2004 by Innerhythmic. The U.S. and UK releases contain a bonus track titled "Black and Strong (Homesick)." Production The lead figures in the Last Poets at this time were Umar Bin Hassan and Abiodun Oyewole. The album was part of the Black Arc Series, launched by producer Bill Laswell in 1992. Plot summary ''The Holy Terror'' presents itself as a biography of Rudolf "Rud" Whitlow, who is born with such an aggressive temperament that scarcely is he born but his monthly nurse exclaims: "It's a Holy Terror!" Rud Whitlow goes on to become the founder of the first world state, long a Wellsian dream. ''The Holy Terror'' is divided into four books. The events of Book One take place in the recognizable recent English past, although Wells warns that "Every person, place and thing in this story—even the countries in which it happens—are fictitious . . . The England, the America, the London in this book are not the England, America and London of geography and journalism, but England, America, and London transposed into imaginative narrative." He began work on his epic, ''The Empire City'', upon returning to New York City in 1939 from his graduate work at the University of Chicago. Holy Terror was an American thrash/speed metal band from North Hills, California, active between 1985 and 1989. The group was known for its aggressive sound, socially conscious lyrics, and association with the late-1980s underground metal scene. History Guitarist Kurt Kilfelt (also known as Kurt Colfelt) founded Holy Terror in 1985 after leaving Agent Steel. He recruited drummer Jack Schwartz (formerly of Dark Angel), bassist Floyd Flanary, guitarist Mike Alvord, and later vocalist Keith Deen, who joined after responding to an ad in ''The Recycler''. The band recorded a four-track demo that gained attention from several record labels. Ultimately, they signed with Music for Nations in the UK. Internal disagreements arose when drummer Jack Schwartz signed the deal unilaterally, leading to his departure. He was replaced by Joe Mitchell, found through an ad in ''Music Connection'' magazine.
