''Holocaust 2000'' (also released as ''The Chosen'' and ''Rain of Fire'') is a 1977 horror film directed by Alberto De Martino, written by De Martino, Michael Robson, and Sergio Donati, and starring Kirk Douglas, Simon Ward, Agostina Belli, Anthony Quayle, Virginia McKenna, and Alexander Knox. The original musical score was composed by Ennio Morricone. The British-Italian co-production was produced by Edmondo Amati for The Rank Organisation and Titanus, and is widely-considered a cash-in on the success of the similarly-themed ''The Omen'' released a year earlier. Alberto De Martino
Alberto De Martino (12 June 1929 – 2 June 2015) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Born in Rome, De Martino started as a child actor and later returned to the cinema where worked as a screenwriter, director and dubbing supervisor. De Martino's films as a director specialised in wellcrafted knock-offs of Hollywood hit films. These films were specifically created films in Western, horror and mythology genres which were developed for the international market. ''The Telegraph'' stated that his best known of these film was probably '' The Antichrist''. ''The Antichrist'' capitalized on the box-office appeal of ''The Exorcist'' (1973) and in its first week in the United States earned a greater box office than ''Jaws''. Erico Menczer (8 May 1926 - 10 March 2012) was an Italian film cinematographer. Born in Fiume (later Rijeka) as Erik, he was forced by the fascist phobia for the foreign culture to change his name. At the end of the Second World War, when the city of Fiume became Yugoslav, he first moved to Padua, then to Genoa, and finally to Rome, where he began his film career. After having worked as a camera operator, Menczer made his debut as a cinematographer in 1960 with the comedy film ''Le pillole di Ercole'' directed by Luciano Salce, with whom he had a professional association that characterized his career in the following decades. Geoffrey Keen
Geoffrey Keen (21 August 1916 – 3 November 2005) was an English actor who appeared in supporting roles in many films. He is well known for playing British Defence Minister Sir Frederick Gray in the ''James Bond'' films. Biography Early life Keen was born in Wallingford, Berkshire, England, the son of stage actor Malcolm Keen. He was educated at Bristol Grammar School. He then joined the Little Repertory Theatre in Bristol for whom he made his stage debut in 1932. After a year in repertory he stayed for a year in Cannes before being accepted for a place at the London School of Economics. In a last-minute change of mind, he entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he won the Bancroft Gold Medal after only one year. In Christian eschatology, the Antichrist refers to people prophesied by the Bible to oppose Jesus Christ and substitute themselves in Christ's place before the Second Coming. The Omen
