Holmevatnet
Holmevatnet or Holmevatn is a lake in the Setesdalsheiene area of Norway. It is located in the mountains on the border of the municipalities of Bykle in Agder county and Suldal in Rogaland county. The lake lies just west of the lake Store Urevatn and to the northeast of the lake Blåsjø. The nearest villages are Berdalen in Bykle, about to the east and Suldalsosen, about to the west. The mountain Kaldafjellet lies about north of the lake. Suldal is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in the northeast corner of Rogaland Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is located in the Districts of Norway, traditional district of Ryfylke. Since 1965, the administrative centre of Suldal is the village of Sand, Rogaland, Sand i Ryfylke (prior to that it was the village of Suldalsosen). Berdalen
Berdalen is a village in Bykle municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located in the Setesdalen valley, along the river Otra and the Norwegian National Road 9. It is about north of the village of Bykle and the same distance south of the village of Hovden. The small village of Hoslemo and the lake Vatndalsvatnet both lie about to the west of the village. Berdalen has several large mountains located about to the east along the municipal border. The mountains (from north to south) include Gråsteinsnosi, Brandsnutene, Svolhusgreini, Sæbyggjenuten, and Støylsdalsnutene. Suldalsosen
Suldalsosen is a village in Suldal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located along the northern shore of the river Suldalslågen on the southwestern end of the lake Suldalsvatnet. Suldalsosen historically was a central starting point for boat traffic on the lake. This was the administrative centre of Suldal municipality prior to 1965 when the municipality was greatly expanded and the administration was moved to Sand, Rogaland, Sand. The main administrative offices of Statkraft's Ulla-Førre hydropower plants are located in Suldalsosen. The village also has two stores, a hairdresser shop, petrol stations, a school, a kindergarten, a nursing home, and Suldal Church. Store Urevatn
Store Urevatn or Urevatn is a lake in the municipality of Bykle in Agder county, Norway. The lake lies about west of the village of Hoslemo and about northwest of the municipal centre of Bykle. The lake sits at an elevation of above sea level, high up in the Setesdalsheiene mountains, just north of the mountains Urevassnutene and Djuptjønnuten and just west of Snjoheinuten. The northeastern arm of the lake has a dam on it which leads to a canal that brings the out-flowing water to the nearby lake Vatndalsvatnet. The lake has large populations of brook trout and brown trout, which makes it a popular fishing location. Agder
Agder is a counties of Norway, county () and districts of Norway, traditional region in the southern part of Norway and is coextensive with the Southern Norway region. The county was established on 1 January 2020, when the old Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties were merged. Setesdalsheiene
Setesdalsheiene () is the collective term for the mountains to the west and east of the Setesdalen valley in Agder county in Southern Norway. The river Otra flows through the valley between the mountains. This area is primarily located in the municipalities of Bykle, Valle, Bygland, Evje og Hornnes, Sirdal, Kvinesdal, and Åseral. The vast Hardangervidda plateau lies to the north and the Ryfylkeheiene mountains lie to the west. The Setesdal Vesthei - Ryfylkeheiane Landscape Protection Area (The Norwegian version of a Zakaznik) covers which includes the western parts of Setesdalsheiene.
