Hollungen
Hollungen AS is a company that operates passenger ferries in Hvaler, Norway. The ships MF ''Hvalerfergen II'', MB ''Hollungen'' og MB ''Olava'' are used on the route Skjærhalden–Lauer–Herføl– Nedgården– Nordre Sandøy–Gr.sund– Makø–Skjærhalden. Hvaler Båt- Og Fergeselskap
Hvaler Båt- og Fergeselskap AS is a defunct municipal company that operated the ferries in Hvaler, Norway. Founded in 1893, it was owned by the municipality until 2001 when it was privatized and sold to Glommen Bulk, that again split the company into Hvaler Fjordcruise and Hollungen in 2004. Hvaler Båt- og Fergeselskap operated from the municipal center of Skjærhalden with routes to Lauer, Norway, Lauer, Herføl, Nedgården, Nordre Sandøy, Gr.sund and Makø as well as Strømstad in Sweden. Prior to the Hvaler Tunnel opening in 1989 it also operated the Skjærhalden–Hvaler Ferry. References

Lauer, Norway
Lauer is a small island in the Hvaler municipality in South-East Norway. The Hvaler islands are located in the Oslofjord, not far from the border with Sweden. The island was first settled in the 17th century. Today, there are around 30 homes on Lauer, used as vacation homes in the summer only. Up until the 1980s, the island was inhabited all year round. Hvaler is a municipality that is a group of islands in the southern part of Østfold County, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Skjærhalden, on the island of Kirkeøy. The only police station in the municipality is located in Skjærhalden. Hvaler was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see ''formannskapsdistrikt''). Name The name is the plural form of ''hval'', which means "whale". The form and shape of the islands resemble a pod of whales. Prior to 1889, the name was spelled Hvaløerne, meaning the whale isles. Coat-of-arms The coat-of-arms is from modern times.
