''Vheissu'' (pronounced "vee-sue") is the fourth studio album by American rock band Thrice. Released on October 18, 2005, through Island Records, the album spawned one charting single, "Image of the Invisible", which peaked at No. 24 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. ''Vheissu'' has received favorable reviews from music critics. Background Following the release of '' The Illusion of Safety'' in 2002, the group were the subject of a major-label bidding war. They eventually signed to Island Records, who released ''The Artist in the Ambulance'' in 2003, which peaked at number 16 on the United States ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Thrice is an American rock band from Irvine, California, formed in 1998. The group was founded by guitarist/vocalist Dustin Kensrue and lead guitarist Teppei Teranishi while they were in high school. Early in their career, the band was known for melodic hardcore punk music based in heavily distorted guitars, prominent lead guitar lines, and frequent changes in complex time signatures. Rancid is an American punk rock band formed in Berkeley, California, in 1991. Founded by Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, former members of the band Operation Ivy, Rancid is often credited (alongside Green Day and the Offspring) as being among the wave of bands that revived mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. Over its -year career, Rancid has retained much of its original fan-base, most of which was connected to its underground musical roots. Rancid has had two lineup changes since its inception, with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman being continuous members. James Riley Breckenridge (born January 5, 1975) is the drummer for the band Thrice. He plays Ludwig Drums, and uses Vic Firth drumsticks, Zildjian cymbals, Remo drumheads, with Drum Workshop hardware and pedals. Music career Breckenridge began playing the drums in high school after tearing multiple ligaments in his legs while playing football. Being unable to play sports for several months, which had been his "only focus" previously, he bought a drum kit and taught himself to play. The older brother of Thrice bassist Eddie Breckenridge, Riley joined Thrice during the early days of the band on the recommendation of Eddie. Breckenridge and Ian Miller released grindcore music as "Puig Destroyer," a play on Yasiel Puig and Pig Destroyer.
