Greet Hofmans
Greet Hofmans (23 June 1894 – 16 November 1968) was a Dutch faith healer and "hand layer". For nine years she was a friend and advisor of Queen Juliana, often residing at Palace Soestdijk. She became the former Dutch queen's confidante in the 1950s, but was removed from the royal court after an affair that in the Netherlands is often referred to by her name, the ''Greet Hofmans affair''. Court crisis 1948–1956 Hofmans was introduced at the Dutch Royal Court on the initiative of Prince Bernhard in 1948 to treat the eye sickness of Princess Maria Christina. This illness arose after Juliana was infected with rubella during the pregnancy. Hofmans developed a great influence on the queen, encouraging pacifist ideas. In the period of the Cold War this caused a crisis in the royal household. Reputedly it reached the point where it threatened the marriage of Juliana and Bernhard. Gunther Hofmans
Gunther Jozef Hofmans (born 3 January 1967) is a former Belgian professional footballer who spent his entire career in Belgium playing as an attacking midfielder and striker for Beerschot AC, Germinal Ekeren and Beerschot AC, Germinal Beerschot. He also represented the Belgium national football team, Belgium national team, winning one cap. He currently works as a team manager for Royal Antwerp F.C., Royal Antwerp, since 2011, having previously worked in the same position, at one of his previous clubs, Germinal Beerschot, from 2008 to 2011. Club career Hofmans started his career at youth club KFC Ranst, where he played from 1975 to 1984. He then joined K.R.C. Mechelen, Racing Mechelen in 1984, before moving to FC Nijlen the following year. Hofmans began playing on senior level in 1986, after completing a move to Beerschot AC, Germinal Ekeren, who were playing in the Belgian Third Division. David Hofmans
David E. Hofmans (January 27, 1943 – July 3, 2024) was an American horse trainer, trainer of Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorses. Born and raised in Los Angeles, when he was a boy his father brought him to watch horse racing at area tracks. While a student at Pasadena City College, he became friends with Gary F. Jones, Gary Jones, the son of a horse trainer and a future trainer himself. Hofmans began learning the business as a groom and hot walker for Jones' father. As a professional trainer, Hofmans earned his first win in 1974 at Santa Anita Racetrack. After success on California race tracks, in 1996 he gained national attention as the trainer of Alphabet Soup (racehorse), Alphabet Soup, who defeated the great Cigar (horse), Cigar in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
