Ragnar Hoen (5 October 1940 – 6 July 2019) was a Norwegian chess FIDE Master (FM), three-time Norwegian Chess Championship winner (1963, 1978, 1981), and Nordic Chess Championship winner (1967). Biography Hoen represented the club . From the early 1960s to the mid-1980s, Ragnar Hoen was one of the leading Norwegian chess players. He won Norwegian Chess Championships three times: 1963, 1978, and 1981. In the championship in 1981, Ragnar Hoen shared first place with three other players but was the only one who accepted a rematch and thus won the championship. He also won the Nordic Chess Championship in 1967. Ragnar Hoen won the Norwegian Blitz Chess Championship twice in a row (1980, 1981). Mechelse Hoen
The Malines, nl, Mechelse Koekoek, italic=no, is a Belgian breed of large domestic chicken. It originates from the area of Mechelen (french: ), in the province of Antwerp in Flanders, for which it is named. It was created in the nineteenth century by cross-breeding local cuckoo-patterned farm chickens with various different types of imported Oriental chicken. With the Jersey Giant, it is among the heaviest of all chicken breeds. It is valued for the quality of its meat, which is pale in colour and fine-textured. Pieter 't Hoen (baptized 18 October 1744 in Utrecht – 9 January 1828 in Amersfoort) was a Dutch journalist, poet, and politician who played an important role during the Patriottentijd as the editor of De Post van den Neder-Rhijn. Personal life 't Hoen was the son of the Utrecht grocer and cheese merchant Reinier 't Hoen, and Johanna Masman. He started his studies at the elite ''Hiëronymusschool'' (a Latin school in Utrecht) in 1755, but was so unruly that his father had him put in a borstal, called ''De Vurige Kolom'' (The Fiery Column) for a year on 29 December 1761, but he was allowed to leave after less than a year in November 1762. Soon hereafter, in April 1763, he married the then 17-year-old Annemietje Nihof, daughter of a Leiden textile merchant. Ellen F. M. 't Hoen (born 1960) is an international medical activist. She is an expert in medicines policy and intellectual property law and has been a consultant to a number of countries and international organisations. In 2005 and 2006 she was listed as one of the 50 most influential people in intellectual property in the world by the journal ''Managing Intellectual Property''. 't Hoen trained as a lawyer – earning a master's degree from Amsterdam University – and a social worker. Steinar Hoen (born 8 February 1971) is a retired Norwegian high jumper. He represented IK Tjalve during his senior career. He has been the meeting director for the Bislett Games since 2007. His indoor and outdoor bests are both 2.36 m – these are also the Norwegian records for the event. Career In his early career he finished eleventh at the 1990 World Junior Championships, fourteenth at the 1991 World Championships, ninth at the 1992 European Indoor Championships and ninth at the 1993 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Van Hoensbroeck (in German: Hoensbroech) is a royal and aristocratic family with medieval origins in the town of Hoensbroek near Heerlen in Limburg, Netherlands. History is the first known ancestor of the family; he was killed in the Battle of Baesweiler in 1371. Hoensbroek
Hoensbroek ( li, Gebrook) is a Dutch town in the municipality of Heerlen. It is situated in the southeast of Limburg, a province in the southeast of the Netherlands. Until 1982, Hoensbroek was a separate municipality. Hoensbroek is known for its medieval castle, Kasteel Hoensbroek, named after Knight Hoen, a member of the Hoen Family. It dates from around 1250. Hoensbroek is also known for the fair on Ascension Day ( Hemelvaartsdag). The fair brings as many as 100,000 people to the town, every year. In medieval times, the town was known under the name of Gebrook, meaning as much as "Swampy Landscape", and belonged to the Family Hoen. Their family name eventually mingled with the original one, resulting in the name ''Hoensbroeck'' for the location and Van Hoensbroeck as the family name.
