Astrid Hochstetter (born 4 August 1979) is a German former figure skater who competed in ladies' singles. She placed 14th at the 1994 World Junior Championships. In 1996, she became the German national senior champion and was sent to the European Championships, where she placed 16th. Christian Hochstätter (born 19 October 1963) is a German former professional footballer. He is a nephew of Helmut Haller. Club career He appeared in more than 330 (West) German top-flight matches. International career Hochstätter played in two friendlies for West Germany in December 1987 – against Brazil and Argentina. Post-playing career After his playing career he was director of football for Borussia Mönchengladbach from 1999 to 2005 and for Hannover 96 from 2006 to 2009. In June 2013, Hochstätter was hired as sports director at VfL Bochum. Ferdinand Hochstetter
Ferdinand Hochstetter (February 5, 1861 – November 10, 1954) was an Austrian embryologist, anatomist and a professor of medicine at the University of Vienna. Life and work Hochstetter was born in Hruschau in Austrian Silesia to Carl Christian and Justine née Bengough. He studied medicine at the University of Vienna and became a demonstrator in 1882 and worked at the anatomical institute under Karl Langer. He completed his habilitation in 1888 and became an associate professor in 1892. He became a full professor at the University of Innsbruck in 1896 and in 1908 he returned to Vienna to succeed Carl Toldt as a second anatomical chair and remained there until his retirement in 1932. He worked on Toldt's anatomical atlas, serving as an editor from the 12th (1921) to the 22nd (1951) editions. He was involved in attempts to improve the nomenclature used in anatomy. Ferdinand Von Hochstetter
Christian Gottlieb Ferdinand Ritter von Hochstetter (30 April 1829 – 18 July 1884) was a Germany, German-Austrians, Austrian geologist. In 1857 he was appointed geologist on the Austrian Novara expedition to New Zealand, collecting natural history specimens and producing the first geological map of New Zealand. Career Von Hochstetter was born in Esslingen am Neckar, Esslingen, then in the kingdom of Württemberg, to Christian Ferdinand and his second wife, Sophie Orth. His father was a parson who also published on botanical and geological subjects. Having received his early education at the evangelical seminary at Maulbronn, Ferdinand proceeded to the University of Tübingen and the Tübinger Stift; there, under Friedrich August von Quenstedt, the interest he already felt in geology became permanently fixed, and he obtained his doctor's degree and a travelling scholarship.
