Hobbledehoy Record Co. ( ) is an artistic-centric independent record label in Adelaide, Australia. Arrows (Australian Band)
Arrows were an Australian band from Brisbane, Queensland formed in August 2006. The band has released two albums, an EP and two split releases. The line-up consists of Anthony Morgan (guitars, keyboard, vocals), Carl Burnett (bass) Anders Cairns (drums) and Scott Merillo (guitar). Arrows are on the Hobbledehoy Record Co label, an independent Australian record company that also features Owen, Blueline Medic, This Will Destroy You, Eleventh He Reaches London, Caspian and more. Don't Write Poetry In Spring of 2006, Arrows self recorded their debut EP ''Don't Write Poetry'' under Burnett's Indoor Children label as a limited release. Eleventh He Reaches London were an Australian five-piece post-hardcore band formed in December 1999 in Perth as Our Lasting Loss. They changed their name in late 2002 and released three studio albums, '' The Good Fight for Harmony'' (December 2005), '' Hollow Be My Name'' (March 2009) and ''Bānhūs'' (October 2013). They disbanded in 2016. Caspian is an American post-rock band from Beverly, Massachusetts, United States. History Early history: 2003–2004 Caspian loosely formed in Autumn of 2003 in Beverly, Massachusetts, developing material through the first year of its existence, recording a demo in May 2004 and performing a small number of shows in late 2004 and early 2005, including support for the Japanese post-rock band Mono. Blueline Medic
Blueline Medic were a four-piece rock band from Melbourne, Australia. History The group formed in mid-1999 after the downfall of bands Caustic Soda and Mid Youth Crisis from which guitarists Donnie Dureau and Adrian Lombardi were members. In forming the initial lineup they were joined on bass by Dave Snow, formerly of The Bradshaw Figure, and Lachlan Hodgson, who drummed for Caustic Soda, and recorded their first EP, ''A Working Title in Green'', released on Sony. Shortly after the release, Hodgson left the band and they were dropped by Sony. Shaun Lohoar (who has also played in a number of Melbourne-based bands, most notably Pollyanna) was recruited as the new drummer. Lymbyc Systym is an American instrumental band from Tempe, Arizona, United States, which formed in 2001, consisting of brothers Jared and Michael Bell. Their sound combines elements of instrumental rock and electronic music. Lymbyc Systym have toured with Broken Social Scene, The Books, Crystal Castles, The Album Leaf, Her Space Holiday, Buckethead, This Will Destroy You, Foxing and The One AM Radio. They typically compose lengthy atmospheric instrumental pieces, featuring layers of effects-laden guitar and a heavy usage of dynamics. Their fourth album ''Another Language'', released in 2014, entered the ''Billboard'' Heatseekers Album Chart at number 7. The City On Film
The City on Film is the official name of Bob Nanna's solo act. He began solo recordings in 1997 during the off-time between Braid tours. These recordings began to accumulate, and in May 2004 he recorded ''I'd Rather Be Wine Drunk'' (his first solo EP) in a Salt Lake City hotel room during a Hey Mercedes tour. Thus far, he has released three EPs, an LP, and a 7" vinyl, and several split EPs. The City on Film's sound is generally lighter, slower, and more cerebral than that of either Braid or Hey Mercedes. There are several lyrical connections and similarities across all three acts (e.g. in Hey Mercedes' "Frowning of a Lifetime", the line ''the lady's a raven / new Elenora Fagan'' compares with ''our baby will be a raven / we'll name her Elenora Fagan'' from The City on Film's "How a Helicopter Sounds"). Owen (band)
Owen is a solo project of Mike Kinsella, and part of the Chicago, Illinois indie rock scene. Kinsella is one of the dominant and influential figures in the Chicago indie scene, having also led the band American Football, and played in the bands Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, The One Up Downstairs and Owls, and most recently Their / They're / There. Owen is known for its soft melodies, complex acoustics, combining lead acoustics with keyboard and other guitars, plaintive vocals and drums. It can be seen as a natural progression for Kinsella, from the progressive and experimental severity of Joan of Arc via the more melodic-progressive American Football. Hey Mercedes was an alternative rock band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois, United States, formed after the dissolution of Braid by its former members Bob Nanna, Todd Bell, and Damon Atkinson. Kevin Devine (born December 19, 1979) is an American songwriter and musician from Staten Island, New York City, who is known for his introspective and political themes.
