Todd Hlushko
Todd Bradley Hlushko (born February 7, 1970) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. He is currently the Director of Player Development/Director of Pro Scouting for German team Adler Mannheim. Hlushko played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames and Pittsburgh Penguins. He played with the Canadian national team and was a member of Canada's silver medal-winning team at the 1994 Winter Olympics and bronze medal squad at the 1995 World Championship. Playing career Hlushko played with three teams in three seasons in his junior hockey career. He began with the Guelph Jr. B's in 1987–88 where he scored 36 goals and 83 points in 44 games. He moved up to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) the following season where he recorded 46 points. Yurii Kosmych Hlushko ( uk, Ю́рій Косьмич Глушко́, known by the pseudonym ''Mova'' ( uk, Мова; 4 April 1882 – 28 October 1942), was a Ukrainian public and political figure, one of the organizers of Ukrainian national cultural existence in Green Ukraine (''Zelenyi Klyn''). Life Hlushko was born 4 April 1882 in the village of Nova Basan, Chernihiv Oblast. Hlushko graduated from the Railway Institute in Kyiv in 1899. During 1901–1903, he worked as a steamship engineer for Dobroflot steamships serving the Odesa-Vladivostok route. Between 1904 and 1907, he worked for the Chinese Eastern Railway in Manchuria. From 1907, he lived in Vladivostok, worked as a draftsman and technician. He became active in the amateur Ukrainian theater society organized by the local Ukrainian community and the Ukrainian student society. Valentyn Hlushko
Valentin Petrovich Glushko (russian: Валенти́н Петро́вич Глушко́; uk, Валентин Петрович Глушко, Valentyn Petrovych Hlushko; born 2 September 1908 – 10 January 1989) was a Soviet engineer and the main designer of rocket engines in the Soviet space program during the heights of the Space Race between United States and the Soviet Union. Biography At the age of fourteen he became interested in aeronautics after reading novels by Jules Verne. He is known to have written a letter to Konstantin Tsiolkovsky in 1923. He studied at an Odessa trade school, where he learned to be a sheet metal worker. After graduation he apprenticed at a hydraulics fitting plant. He was first trained as a fitter, then moved to lathe operator. During his time in Odessa, Glushko performed experiments with explosives.
