Hluk
Hluk (german: Hulken) is a town in Uherské Hradiště District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,200 inhabitants. Etymology The name of Hluk is very likely derived from Latin word ''hlucium'' ( en, noise, cs, hluk). It probably got its name from the noisy flowing water of the Okluky stream. Geography Hluk lies southeast from Uherské Hradiště. It lies in the Vizovice Highlands on the Okluky stream. In the municipal territory are the nature reserve ''Kobylí hlava'' and the nature monuments ''Okluky'' and ''Pod Husí horou''. History The first written mention of Hluk is from 1294. However, the first mention of the wider region called Lucké pole Province is from the 11th century. A wooden fortress in Hluk is first documented in 1303. Nemšová
Nemšová ( hu, Nemsó) is a town in the Trenčín District, Trenčín Region in northwestern Slovakia. Geography It is located in the Ilava Basin on the Váh and Vlára rivers at the foothills of the White Carpathians. It is from Trenčín and from the Czech border. History The first written record about Nemšová was in 1246. The present-day town exists since 1989, when it was created by merger of the villages of Nemšová, Ľuborča, Kľúčové and Trenčianska Závada. Planá nad Lužnicí (german: Plan an der Lainsitz) is a town in Tábor District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,300 inhabitants. Käthe Odwody
Käthe Odwody (born Katharina Wanek; 6 March 1901 – 23 September 1943) was an Austrian worker at a commercial bakery and trades union officer who became a communist resistance activist against the Dollfuß dictatorship and, after 1938, against the National Socialist (''"Nazi"'') régime. Her cover name within the Siegl resistance group was "Walli". She was executed, along with two of her resistance comrades, by guillotine at the district court complex in Vienna on 23 September 1943. Thatching is the craft of building a roof with dry vegetation such as straw, water reed, sedge (''Cladium mariscus''), rushes, heather, or palm branches, layering the vegetation so as to shed water away from the inner roof. Matthias Corvinus
Matthias Corvinus, also called Matthias I ( hu, Hunyadi Mátyás, ro, Matia/Matei Corvin, hr, Matija/Matijaš Korvin, sk, Matej Korvín, cz, Matyáš Korvín; ), was King of Hungary and Croatia from 1458 to 1490. After conducting several military campaigns, he was elected King of Bohemia in 1469 and adopted the title Duke of Austria in 1487. He was the son of John Hunyadi, Regent of Hungary, who died in 1456. In 1457, Matthias was imprisoned along with his older brother, Ladislaus Hunyadi, on the orders of King Ladislaus the Posthumous.
