Yaese, Okinawa
is a town located in Shimajiri District, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Yaese was formed on January 1, 2006 by a merger between the town of Kochinda and the village of Gushikami. As of April 30, 2024, Yaese has a population of 32,976, with a population density of 1,200 persons per km2. The total area of the town of Yaese is . Yaese Town is host to the Tomori Shīsā, considered the oldest stone shīsā conserved. It is designated as a Cultural Property by Okinawa Prefecture. Avex Trax
is a record label owned by Japanese entertainment conglomerate Avex Inc. The label was launched in September 1990, and was the first label by the Group. History Two years after Max Matsuura began a career distributing studio albums from other countries, he and his two Avex co-founders, Tom Yoda and Ken Suzuki, decided to found their own label. Aiming to compete with more established labels such as Nippon Columbia, Nippon Crown, BMG Victor, Victor Musical Industries, Toshiba-EMI, CBS/Sony, Teichiku Records, King Records, Nippon Phonogram and PolyGram K.K., they created the Avex Trax label. Speed (Japanese Band)
Speed (stylized in all caps) was a Japanese female vocal/dance group comprising Hiroko Shimabukuro, Eriko Imai, Takako Uehara and Hitoe Arakaki. All four members are former students of the Okinawa Actors School which also trained popular artists Namie Amuro and MAX. Speed made their major label debut on August 5, 1996, and became an immediate success. They would eventually become the most successful girl group anywhere in Asia with sales of over 20 million singles and albums in just three years and eight months. They disbanded on March 31, 2000, to pursue solo careers and to study. Following their disbandment, the group reunited several times for charity, but on August 20, 2008, they officially announced plans to reunite permanently.
