Hit Man (American Game Show)
''Hit Man'' is an American television game show. The show aired on NBC from January 3 to April 1, 1983, and was hosted by Peter Tomarken. Rod Roddy was the announcer, and the program was produced by Jay Wolpert Productions in association with Metromedia Video Productions. Game play Four contestants competed on each episode of ''Hit Man'' in a quiz based on memory and instant recall. One was either a returning champion or champion-designate, with the other three were challengers who competed for the right to face him/her in the second round. The winner of each game played the bonus round, known as the Triple Crown, for a top prize of $10,000. Round 1 The three challengers watched a short film narrated by Tomarken. Bob Eubanks
Robert Leland Eubanks (born January 8, 1938) is an American disc jockey, television personality and game show host, widely known for hosting the game show ''The Newlywed Game'' on and off since 1966. He also hosted the successful revamp version of ''Card Sharks'' from 1986 to 1989. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his radio DJ work in 2000. It is in front of Grauman's Egyptian Theatre, where he worked during the first years of his broadcasting career. ''Hitman'' is a British game show that aired on the ITV from 28 February to 30 May 1989 and was hosted by Nick Owen. The program was based on the US version, which aired on NBC in 1983 and was hosted by Peter Tomarken. Gameplay In the first round, three players watched a film clip and then answered a series of questions about it. Each correct answer earned a "hitman" for the player who gave it. The first two players to earn five hitmen advanced to the next round; the third was eliminated and given a consolation prize consisting of champagne and caviar.
