Historic Broadway Station
Historic Broadway station is an underground light rail station on the A and E lines of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located at the southeast corner of 2nd Street and Broadway in the Historic Core section of Downtown Los Angeles. In planning documents, the station was originally going to be named 2nd St/Broadway. Historic Broadway was built as part of the Regional Connector project, a tunnel through Downtown Los Angeles. The station is sited in privately owned land and required an agreement with the property's owner, which reserved the right to build a high-rise building above the station entrance on the site in the future. It was constructed via the sequential excavation method, the first time Metro has utilized the process. Broadway, until 1890 Fort Street, is a major thoroughfare in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Sequential Excavation Method
The new Austrian tunneling method (NATM), also known as the sequential excavation method (SEM) or sprayed concrete lining method (SCL), is a method of modern tunnel design and construction employing sophisticated monitoring to optimize various wall reinforcement techniques based on the type of rock encountered as tunneling progresses. This technique first gained attention in the 1960s based on the work of Ladislaus von Rabcewicz, Leopold Müller (engineer), Leopold Müller, and Franz Pacher between 1957 and 1965 in Austria. The name NATM was intended to distinguish it from earlier methods, with its economic advantage of employing inherent geological strength available in the surrounding rock (geology), rock mass to stabilize the tunnel wherever possible rather than reinforcing the entire tunnel. Bradbury Building
The Bradbury Building is an architectural landmark in downtown Los Angeles, California, United States. Built in 1893, the five-story office building is best known for its extraordinary skylit atrium of access walkways, stairs and elevators, and their ornate ironwork. The building was commissioned by Los Angeles gold-mining millionaire Lewis L. Bradbury and constructed by architect George Wyman from the original design by Sumner Hunt. It appears in numerous works of fiction and has been the site of many movie and television shoots and music videos. Angels Flight
Angels Flight is a landmark and historic narrow-gauge funicular railway in the Bunker Hill district of Downtown Los Angeles, California. It has two funicular cars, named ''Olivet'' and ''Sinai'', that run in opposite directions on a shared cable. The tracks cover a distance of over a vertical gain of . The funicular has operated on two different sites, using the same cars and station elements. Montebello Bus Lines is a municipal bus operator in Montebello, California, USA, mainly serving East Los Angeles, Commerce, and Montebello. History Montebello Bus Lines began on 28 July 1931, with a small lot on the corner of Greenwood Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, where the four buses the agency operated were housed. Silver Streak is a bus rapid transit route between Montclair, California, Montclair and Los Angeles operated by Foothill Transit. Between the Montclair TransCenter and the El Monte Bus Station, buses travel on the San Bernardino Freeway. Between El Monte and Downtown Los Angeles, buses use the El Monte Busway.
