Hiroshi Nakamura (artist)
is a Japanese artist who has worked in 'reportage' and surrealist styles. Tiger Tateishi
Tiger Tateishi (December 20, 1941 - April 17, 1998), pen name of Kōichi Tateishi ( was a Japanese painter, mangaka, picture book artist, and ceramic artist. Biography & personal profile Tateishi was born in the town of Ida in Chikuho (now Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture). He spent his boyhood during the period of postwar reconstruction and rapid economic growth, surrounded by movies and Showa-era songs. He began his artistic activities when he entered Musashino Art University and moved to Tokyo. At first, he worked under his real name and made his debut at the Yomiuri Indépendant Exhibition in 1963. Alice Maude-Roxby
Alice Maude-Roxby (born 1963) is a multidisciplinary artist known for her fine art, photography, curation and authorship. Biography Maude-Roxby was born in London and did a foundation course at Brighton Polytechnic during 1981 and 1982 and took a fine art degree at the school of sculpture at Newcastle-upon-Tyne Polytechnic between 1982 and 1985. She studied at the Kunstakademiet in Trondheim in Norway during 1989 and 1990 before shifting her educational focus onto photography in Berlin where she studied under Dieter Appelt at the Hochschule der Kunste in 1990 and 1991. Grants and scholarships awarded to Maude-Roxby allowed her to research and create artworks internationally with various institutions and art councils. Tatsumi Hijikata
was a Japanese choreographer, and the founder of a genre of dance performance art called Butoh. By the late 1960s, he had begun to develop this dance form, which is highly choreographed with stylized gestures drawn from his childhood memories of his northern Japan home. It is this style which is most often associated with Butoh by Westerners. Life and Butoh Tatsumi Hijikata was born in 1928, March 9 in the Akita region of northern Japan, the tenth in a family of eleven children, as Yoneyama Kunio. After having shuttled back and forth between Tokyo and his hometown from 1947, he moved to Tokyo permanently in 1952. He claims to have initially survived as a petty criminal through acts of burglary and robbery, but as he was known to embellish details of his life, it is not clear how much his account can be trusted. Tachikawa Airfield
is an airfield in the city of Tachikawa, the western part of Tokyo, Japan. Currently under the administration of the Ministry of Defense, it has also served as the civil aviation with Japan's first scheduled air service. History Origins Tachikawa was originally built at the direction of the Imperial Guard for the purpose of providing aerial defense for Tokyo. The Guard also considered sites in Sagamihara, Kawagoe and Kodaira, but chose Tachikawa for its proximity to central Tokyo, good rail connection (today's Chuo Main Line) and favorable geography (flat land with few residents). Tachikawa Airfield's origins begin on 14 March 1922 when a flying squadron of Farman III aircraft, one balloon squadron and a material depot unit moved to Tachikawa from Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture.
