Hillcrest High School is an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board high school in the Elmvale Acres neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The school was opened in 1961. Its sports teams are nicknamed "The Hawks". Its exclusive catchment area covers the neighbourhoods of Riverview, Ottawa, Riverview, Faircrest Heights, Playfair Park, Elmvale Acres, Urbandale, Ottawa, Urbandale, Hawthorne Meadows, Sheffield Glen, Hunt Club Park and part of Greenboro, Ottawa, Greenboro. Black Canadians () are Canadians of full or partial Afro-Caribbean or sub-Saharan African descent. Black Canadian settlement and immigration patterns can be categorized into two distinct groups. Stewart Gavin
Robert Stewart Gavin (born March 15, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger who played in the NHL between 1980 and 1993. Gavin was selected 74th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Gavin played 768 career NHL games, scoring 130 goals and 156 assists for 286 points. His best season was in 1985–86 when he scored 26 goals and 55 points with the Hartford Whalers. A knee injury forced Gavin into early retirement in 1993, though he did stage a one season comeback in the IHL in 1994. After retiring, Gavin entered business, and in 2003 founded his own firm, known as the Gavin Management Group. Christopher James Gardner (born March 25, 1985, in Ottawa) is a Canadian curler who competes mainly in Ontario. Career Gardner skipped his bantam mixed team to a provincial championship in 2002, and the following year he won the provincial junior mixed title. Gardner's men's team, which he skips, has had some success on the provincial curling tour circuit. In 2009, they made their first provincial championship, finishing with a 3–6 record. Logan Couture
Logan Couture (born March 28, 1989) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He played his entire National Hockey League (NHL) career with the San Jose Sharks, who selected him ninth overall in the 2007 NHL entry draft, and where he established himself as one of the best Stanley Cup playoffs performers of his generation. Al Charron
Alan Charron (born 27 July 1966 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a former Canadian rugby union rugby player. He played 2nd row and all three loose forward positions at club and international level back-row forward and was capped 76 times for the Canadian national team, the Canucks. In fact he also played briefly in a game at prop when his team was shorthanded after injuries and send-offs suffered by his teammates. Barry Brown (born December 17, 1952), is a Canadian country music artist and songwriter. Brown, a former member of Family Brown and Prescott-Brown. Nicholas Carl Boynton (born January 14, 1979) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins, Phoenix Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers. The Ottawa 67's are a major junior ice hockey team based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that plays in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Established during Canada's centennial year of 1967 and named in honour of this, the 67's currently play their home games at TD Place Arena. The 67's are three-time OHL champions, and have played in the Memorial Cup five times, winning in 1984 and as host team in 1999.
