Hillbilly Elegy (film)
''Hillbilly Elegy'' is a 2020 American biographical drama film directed by Ron Howard from a screenplay by Vanessa Taylor, based on the 2016 memoir of the same name by JD Vance. The film stars Amy Adams and Glenn Close, and features Gabriel Basso, Haley Bennett, Freida Pinto, Bo Hopkins in his final film appearance, and Owen Asztalos. After buying the rights to Vance's book in 2017, Imagine Entertainment announced Howard as the film's director. In 2019, Netflix acquired the distribution rights in January, much of the cast joined in April and filming took place from June through August in Georgia and Ohio. ''Hillbilly Elegy'' had a limited theatrical release on November 11, 2020, before its streaming release on November 24, 2020, by Netflix, to negative reviews from critics. Ron Howard
Ronald William Howard (born March 1, 1954) is an American filmmaker and actor. Howard started his career as a child actor before transitioning to directing films. Over his six-decade career, Howard has received List of awards and nominations received by Ron Howard, multiple accolades, including two Academy Awards, seven Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Grammy Award. He was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2003 and was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2013. The Numbers is a film industry data website that tracks box office revenue in a systematic, algorithmic way, a publication of Nash Information Services LLC. The company also conducts research services and forecasts incomes of film projects. History The site was launched in 1997 by Bruce Nash.
