Hildegard Fässler
Hildegard Fässler-Osterwalder (born 22 June 1951 in Frauenfeld; resident of Appenzell District, Appenzell and Stettfurt) is a Swiss politician from the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SP). Biography Fässler attended elementary school in Steckborn and then went on to teacher training college in Kreuzlingen. She graduated as a primary school teacher in 1972. She then studied mathematics at the University of Zurich until 1977. After receiving her diploma, she continued her training as a secondary school teacher (diploma for higher education teaching) at the University of Zurich, graduating in 1980. From 1979 to 2000, she was a mathematics teacher at the . Fässler joined the SP Werdenberg (Wahlkreis), Werdenberg in 1980 and ran for the Cantonal Council of St. Gallen for the first time in 1988.
