Bait Al Hikmat
Bait al Hikmat ( Trans. ''House of Wisdom'') is the main academic library at the Hamdard University, Karachi, Pakistan. Its gate opened in December 1989 and is named after the famous library, House of Wisdom, in Baghdad. The library houses over half a million modern volumes as well as thousands of ancient manuscripts, millions of clippings, translations of the Quran in over 60 languages, A.V. Cassettes, as well as Postage Stamps, Coins and Photographs of Hamdard University/Foundation Activities. It is one of the largest library of Pakistan. Divani-hikmat
Divani-hikmat ("House of Wisdom") was one of the first literary councils of Azerbaijan. It was first held in 1820–1830 in Ganja city. The head of the council was the poet Mirza Shafi Vazeh. In 1841 it was shifted to Tbilisi and he began to operate it in Tbilisi during 1841–1846. At meetings of Divani-hikmat there were Russian, German and other nationalities besides Azerbaijani poets. Until the death of Mirza Shafi (until 1852) "Divani-hikmat" ran in Tbilisi and until the death of Mir Mehdi Naji (until 1882) in Ganja ''Ganja'' (, ; ) is one of the oldest and most commonly used synonyms for cannabis flower, specifically marijuana or hashish. ''Hikmah'' (also ''Hikmat'', , '')'' is an Arabic word that means wisdom, sagacity, philosophy, rationale or underlying reason. The Quran mentions "hikmah" in various places, where it is understood as knowledge and understanding of the Quran, fear of God, and a means of nourishing the spirit or intellect. Hikmah is sometimes associated with prophethood, faith, intelligence ( 'aql), comprehension (fahm), or the power of rational demonstration. In the Quran, God bestows wisdom upon whomever He chooses, and various individuals including the House of Abraham, David, Joseph, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad and Luqman are said to have received wisdom. The Quran also uses the term hikmah in connection with the Book or the scripture in general. The Quran also refers to itself as the Wise Book, and refers to God as The Wise in several places.
